MODBUS protocol support
The Russian UHF RFID reader SAUK E4 has received additional functionality for use in industrial automation tasks. The device supports the MODBUS protocol - an open standard switching protocol for transmitting signals from instrumentation to the main controller, data collection system or to the dispatching system. Now the SAUK E4 RFID reader is easily connected to the PLC and SCADA. The manufacturer announced this on March 4, 2024.
Russian factories will be able to abandon foreign RFID equipment for industrial automation. The Modbus protocol allows you to use SAUK E4 to control facilities at enterprises in all industrial sectors of the Russian economy: from the power and oil and gas industries to metallurgy, machine tools and mechanical engineering. Thanks to versatility and openness, the standard allows you to integrate equipment from different manufacturers within the framework of a single management and dispatching system.
The implementation of the MODBUS RTU TCPIP over/protocol was another stage in expanding the capabilities of SAUK equipment. SAUK devices with MODBUS based on the RS485 interface have already been introduced and are undergoing trial operation at one of the domestic plants. Thanks to the time-tested MODBUS protocols, the SAUK E4 RFID reader can be laconically built into any line, including those running on foreign PLC and SCADA. SAUK E4 works in industrial Ethernet and wireless networks, Wi-Fi as well as RS485 and RS232, - said Andrey Krasovsky, head of SAUK, candidate of technical sciences. |
Launch of production of RFID readers SAUK E4
The Russian company SAUK has developed and launched the UHF RFID reader SAUK E4 for radio frequency identification at a range of several tens of meters. The solution creates the Internet of Things for enterprises, transport, any business area. SAUK E4 sends information about the movement of any objects with UHF RFID tags to the IT systems of enterprises, or automatically monitors them. The developer announced this on February 12, 2024.
The high-frequency RFID reader is complemented by several external RFID antennas and is used for:
- Process automation at production facilities;
- Control of product movement in warehouses, production facilities;
- Creation of anticorrosive RFID systems;
- Building RFID portals;
- Contactless access to parking lots and closed areas;
- Identification of cars, trams, wagons in mines, trucks in quarries, other equipment.
Foreign RFID readers are designed for the global market, as a result, they are designed mainly for the American frequency range, and the domestic SAUK E4 was created specifically for the requirements of radio regulation of the Russian Federation. Thanks to circuitry solutions, ultra-high sensitivity is provided for identification over a long distance. SAUK E4 operates at temperatures from -35 ° C to + 85 ° C (if the main unit is hidden from direct solar radiation).
{{quote "Automation of production and logistics is impossible without identification and monitoring. Cars, transport, goods cannot simply be connected to the business information system, and only UHF RFID allows you to solve all problems. We have developed a multi-channel UHF RFID reader with self-diagnostics, superior in functionality to most foreign analogues. Thanks to our SAUK E4, you will be able to control and take into account goods in the warehouse, allow cars to be parked according to the list, monitor shipments at the enterprise, "said Andrey Krasovsky, head of SAUK. }}
