Odyssey Neo G9

In addition, the model uses Quantum Matrix technology, which provides optimal 12-bit gradation for more accurate control of the light source, while with 2048 areas of local darkening, Quantum Mini LED modules make dark areas even darker, and light areas even brighter. Thus, viewers see the image on the screen exactly as it was conceived by the authors. With support for Quantum HDR 2000 technology, the monitor provides a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, as confirmed by the VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker) certification, as well as a static contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1. In addition, Samsung image quality technologies allow you to get the right levels of black and white for greater contrast and detail.
The Odyssey Neo G9 is equipped with a 49-inch display with an aspect ratio of 32:9 and a Dual Quad High-Definition resolution (DQHD; 5,120 × 1,440 pixels) with a frame refresh rate of 240 Hz and a short response time of 1 ms. The monitor has a futuristic design and a curved 1000R screen. The Odyssey Neo G9 received the TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Certification for minimal radiation of harmful blue light.
The Odyssey Neo G9 Odyssey Neo G9 provides adaptive synchronization when connected via DP1.4 and in HDMI2.1 VRR mode (with variable refresh rate) when connected via HDMI 2.1 with support for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which allows dynamic frame change.
The monitor fits into any gaming environment thanks to the glossy white case and the futuristic Infinity Core backlight system, which supports 52 colors and five light effects options. The monitor also received the CoreSync function, thanks to which users can personalize their settings and set multi-color mode for full immersion in the gaming space.
Odyssey G3/G5/G7
On June 21, 2021, Samsung Electronics introduced an updated line of Odyssey 2021 game monitors with a screen diagonal from 24 to 28 inches.
According to the company, the updated line of Samsung Odyssey game monitors has been replenished with the following models:
- Odyssey G7 28 "(G70A model) - The Odyssey G7, with its Ultra High Definition (UHD) display with a 178-degree viewing angle and HDR400 support, provides the right color quality with even greater contrast, deeper black and brighter white, offering color depth and detail. With 144Hz refresh rate, 4K resolution and 1ms response time, and support for NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies, the monitor delivers realistic visuals. The Odyssey G7 is compatible with the HDMI1 standard and works with the necessary resolution and refresh rate not only when connected to a computer, but also to game consoles with support for the 4K format with a frequency of 120 Hz. The proprietary backlight of the CoreSync monitor on the back of the case transfers colors from games outside the screen to the real environment, providing even more complete immersion in the gameplay.
- Odyssey G5 27" (G50A Model) - The Odyssey G5 Monitor is the first model in the range Odyssey equipped with the screen with permission of Quad High Definition (QHD), with a frequency of updating of shots of 165 Hz and time of a response of 1 ms and also support of HDR Thanks to compatibility with G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium the monitor differs in the increased performance, providing the image without lags and failures. Samsung Odyssey G70A and G50A game monitors also include a number of intuitive features and a range of screen control tools for multitasking. Users can simultaneously play, view content and communicate using PBP mode (two pictures nearby) or create a virtual second screen thanks to the flexible PIP function (picture-in-picture). Easy Setting Box allows gamers to control multiple screens on a single monitor.
In addition, with Auto Source Switch +, the user does not need to switch inputs on his own, just turn on the computer or game console so that the monitor recognizes the active input and switches to it.
2020: Opening pre-order for Odyssey game monitors in Russia
On July 10, 2020, Samsung Electronics announced the start of pre-orders in Russia for the Odyssey display line. It included G9 models with a 49 'and G7 screen with 32' and 27 'screens. Monitors are distinguished by record curved (bending radius 1000 mm/1000R) display and QLED technology. You can issue a pre-order for the G9 and purchase the G7 from July 10, 2020. The devices will go on sale by the end of the month at the recommended price of 109,990 rubles for the G9 monitor and 47,990 rubles and 42,990 rubles for the G7 monitors with a diagonal of 32 ″ and 27 ″, respectively.
Models are optimal for demanding games and eSports. With a low response time of 1 ms (MPRT), a 240 Hz refresh rate, and RapidCurve technology, full immersion in content is possible. All devices in the line support NVIDIA G-SYNC (G-SYNC Compatible) and Adaptive Sync on DP1.4.
The flagship G9 model is a game monitor with a Dual Quad High Definition (5120 × 1440 points) resolution and an aspect ratio of 32:9. The curvature of the device screen is 1000R, the peak brightness is 1000 cd/m2. The quantum dot technology combined with the HDR1000 VA panel provides high realism, brightness and detail of the image.

The Odyssey G9 received a white glossy case finish with futuristic interior lighting that supports 52 possible colors and five light effects. The Odyssey G7 has a matte black surface and customizable internal backlight that can remain static, mute during play, or change color depending on the player's preferences.
Samsung Odyssey monitors have already received the approval of professional e-sportsmen: in May, Samsung became a partner of the international organization T1 Entertainment & Sports (T1). Members of T1 teams in various disciplines, including League of Legends, use the Odyssey G9 and G7 for pre-competition training.
Since the beginning of 2020, large-format monitors in Russia account for more than 40% of total market sales. Most often, Samsung monitors buy more than 24 'in the segment - such data are given by a recent study of GfK. At the same time, sales of curved monitors have been growing since February 2020.
