Twice the power of UV radiation, motion sensors
In early June 2021, an improved version was presented robot-disinfector - of the joint company project "Special Inspection Technologies" (STK) and. Sber Robotics Laboratories
For disinfection, the robot uses special ultraviolet lamps, which are used in professional cleaning of air and surfaces in the premises. The updated version of the disinfector robot has a higher power of UV radiation - it is doubled compared to the previous version, said June 15, 2021 in the company "Special Control Technologies," on the basis of which mass production of robots is deployed.
In addition, the technology was equipped with motion sensors with a 360-degree coverage area - due to them, the robot responds to the appearance of people or animals in the room where disinfection is taking place, and turns off UV lamps.
The innovation eliminates the possibility of a person getting injured during the decontamination process and makes it completely safe, the company emphasized. At the same time, the quality of disinfection is also improved - thanks to the robot, it occurs from different points and is carried out even in inaccessible places.
"The presented version of our disinfectant robot is not just cosmetic improvements. We are improving the sabotage, realizing that this is a need caused by the situation in the world. Such a robot is designed to kill bacteria, viruses and protozoa, and its modernization will make it more reliable and faster, "said Alexei Stepanov, head of robotics at STK LLC. |
The services of the robot are already used in the offices of Sber.
Modernization of the work algorithm, element base and materials
The subsidiary Sbera "Special Control Technologies" is engaged in modernization work robot disinfector developed by. Laboratory of robotics The updated version of the disinfection will receive significant improvements related to algorithm the work, element base and materials, as well as changes will affect the quality and speed of disinfection treatment, reported February 17, 2021 in Sber.
The disinfectant robot is already working in the company's offices, deliveries to partners in the regions have begun. In addition, it is represented on the international market, where it participates in one of the relevant tenders.
This is an autonomous collaborative device that not only independently builds a route and moves indoors, but also performs disinfection in automatic mode. Using ultraviolet lamps, the robot cleans the air and surfaces of pathogens in a matter of minutes. This makes the disinfection process faster and better. One of the main features of the robot is its versatility and the possibility of flexible adjustment: if necessary, it can be easily rebuilt into another scenario or change individual parameters, emphasized in Sber.
The updated version of our disinfectant robot is not just cosmetic improvements, we are improving the disinfectant, realizing that this is a need caused by the situation in the world. Our robot is already capable of destroying coronavirus, and its modernization will make it more reliable and faster. Moreover, during this year we intend to create a completely new robot, which will be equipped with modern equipment. I can confidently say that our development will not have analogues in the market, "said Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank. |
2020: Creating a disinfectant robot to fight the epidemic
Sberbank Robotics Laboratory developed a prototype robot-disinfector to combat the pandemic of a new coronavirus, the bank said on April 10, 2020. It was created on the basis of a robot courier presented by Sberbank in early June 2019 (for more details, see the block below).
The prototype has ultraviolet lamps with a total power of 100 W. This allows you to disinfect a room measuring 20 m2 in 5 minutes, the developers say. In the future, the power of the lamps can be increased. Ultraviolet radiation destroys all types of pathogens, including viruses.
Sberbank says that it is enough once to "show" the robot the room, after which he will be able to carry out disinfection on his own, and when a person appears in the room, the process will be automatically stopped.
The use of the robot in hospitals and clinics, educational institutions, offices, metro cars, as well as in other public places for preventive disinfection will help restrain the spread of various pathogens, Sberbank believes.
The technological solution proposed by our laboratory is relevant not only during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a universal robot that will be in demand in the long term, including during seasonal outbreaks of influenza and SARS, "says Stanislav Kuznetsov, deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank. |
The head of the Sberbank Robotics Laboratory, Albert Efimov, believes that such a robot can significantly reduce the load on the staff of medical institutions and slow down the rate of spread of the virus thanks to mass disinfection of public spaces.
Given the extraordinary circumstances, we are trying to reduce the path from the prototype to the product as much as possible and bring the finished solution to the market as quickly as possible, "he said. |
As of the time of the announcement, a prototype of a disinfectant robot is being tested in the offices of Sberbank. Based on the results of testing, a decision will be made to scale the project and apply it outside the bank.
Sberbank told TAdviser that the prototype is a completely independent and initiative development of the Bank's Robotics Laboratory. The building and design elements were created in cooperation with the technology block, Sberbank ecosystem companies and other Russian companies.
The intellectual property and development of the bank is unique software for the safe autonomous movement of a heavy robot in public spaces among people, as well as the integration of the necessary third-party components and the industrial design of the entire solution. The on-board electronics of the robot are not the subject of development and are built on market components, however, we note that the electrical circuit, firmware for the microcontroller are also developed by the Robotics Laboratory, "TAdviser was told in the bank. |
In this project, Sberbank collaborates with Intel and Nvidia, exploring the possibilities of using the most advanced components of these companies, the bank added.
2019: Announcement of a robot courier
In early June 2019, it became known about the creation Sberbank robots of parcels for delivery inside offices. The device is developed Sberbank Robotics Logistics Laboratory in and presented in. St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2019
According to Albert Efimov, head of the Sberbank robotics laboratory, on his Facebook page, a robot courier can deliver anything, and the carrying capacity is limited to 15 kg.
At SPIEF 2019, these robots will deliver souvenirs, showing the capabilities of personal delivery. They can also be used to transfer documents and various valuable things - in order to pick up the package, the recipient needs to enter a PIN code.
According to Albert Efimov, the Carfidov Lab company was involved in creating the industrial design of the robot body, but all the intellectual property associated with the novelty belongs to the Sberbank Robotics Laboratory.
It is assumed that the robot will not be sold - companies will be able to rent it according to the RaaS model (Robot-as-a-Service, robot as a service). Partners are involved in the development of the project in order to "work out useful cases of delivery inside offices and other types of premises."
At the first stage, delivery robots will be tested at Sberbank. Until the end of the summer of 2019, in pilot mode, they will be introduced in the SberbankAgile Home office. It is assumed that these robots will be used in other companies from the beginning of 2020.
Such robot couriers can be interesting to commercial real estate operators, business center owners, large organizations and delivery services for online retail. In fact, this is a mobile postamat that solves the task of delivering valuable cargo to the client at the last 100 meters of delivery, "Albert Efimov told TAdviser through the Sberbank press service. |
According to Sberbank, the global market for logistics robots is growing by at least 18% per year. In Russia, demand will exceed several thousand copies, and the credit institution expects to become a leader in this market.
Sberbank has long been engaged in robots, including software. Earlier it was reported that the introduction of artificial intelligence in the operational work of the company allowed it to reduce up to 70% of middle managers, namely 14 thousand people.[1]
