2021: Launch Galaxy VL 3-phase UPS 200-500 kW
On April 15, 2021, Schneider Electric announced the global launch of the Galaxy VL 3-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with a capacity of 200-500 kW (400 V/480 V), in the Galaxy UPS line. Compact UPS provides up to 99% ECOnversion efficiency for medium and large data centers, as well as commercial companies and industrial enterprises.
According to the company, due to the compact form, the Galaxy VL occupies an average of two times less space than other solutions in the industry - 0.8 m2. The modular and scalable UPS architecture allows you to gradually increase its power from 200 to 500 kW in 50 kW increments, providing a flexible approach and the ability to increase performance as your business needs expand.
In addition, Schneider Electric introduced Live Swap technology implemented in Galaxy VL, which provides protection against electric shock when touched during the replacement or addition of power modules to the operating UPS during continuous connection to the network. So, Live Swap technology optimizes the safety of personnel when servicing UPS, eliminating the need to switch UPS to a mechanical bypass or battery when installing or removing power modules.
Key features of Galaxy VL:
- Minimize UPS footprint. The Galaxy VL is the most compact UPS in its class, which takes an average of 2 times less space than similar models - only 0.8 m2. This frees up the data center space required for your IT infrastructure. Additional space savings - up to 70% compared to classic solutions based on lead-acid batteries - can be achieved using Galaxy lithium-ion batteries.
- Savings. The Galaxy VL is based on a modular and scalable platform that allows you to increase power as your load increases, reducing capital costs, operating costs, power consumption, and maintenance costs. Power is increased in increments of 50 kW from 200 to 500 kW without increasing the space occupied.
- Optimization of facility energy efficiency. The annual energy cost savings of more than 1 million rubles due to the achievement of 99% efficiency during the operation of UPS in the ECOnversion mode provides a full return on investment in UPS over several years of operation. UPS is certified Green Premium and supports lithium ion batteries.
- Optimizing convenience with EcoStruxure. By connecting Galaxy VL to EcoStruxure - an open and interoperable architecture and platform based on the Internet of Things - data center operators are able to use EcoStruxure IT services and applications. They enable customers to monitor, manage and simulate their own IT infrastructure, and receive 24/7 support everywhere.
