2021: Expansion of Galaxy VS UPS functionality: 20-150kW

On September 7, 2021, Schneider Electric, which provides digital power management and automation solutions, announced an expansion of the functionality of the Galaxy VS three-phase UPS: the solution is now available in a 20-150kW modification. Also, the Galaxy VS 20-150 kW (400V) for use with external batteries received Live Swap support.

Live Swap is a Schneider Electric solution that provides protection against electric shock when touched during the replacement or addition of power modules to a working and connected UPS. Live Swap makes it possible to safely "hot" replace modules without turning off UPS and load, as well as without putting equipment in mechanical bypass mode. The functionality and reliability of the solution is confirmed by independent tests of the UL laboratory.

In addition to Live Swap support, Galaxy VS features include easy-to-count ECOnversion savings electric power and support for IT connectivity (no neutral).

Live Swap technology is optional and can be purchased with UPS or installed on an already functioning device. At the beginning of September 2021, the solution is available in the Galaxy VS UPS family only for models without built-in batteries, but later, according to the company, support for this technology will be implemented on other products of the Galaxy VS family.

2020: Galaxy VS UPS line extension: 60-100kW and 10-50kW N + 1

On April 13, 2020, Schneider Electric introduced the expansion of the Galaxy VS three-phase UPS line with integrated modular batteries up to and including 100kW power. In addition, as part of the product release, models with built-in N + 1 redundancy are also announced, allowing you to multiply the reliability of the solution. The Galaxy VS UPS with built-in modular batteries has become much more compact, saving space of up to 60%, the devices are great for meeting the needs for uninterrupted power supply of IT equipment, civil and industrial loads.

The Galaxy VS 60-100kW, as well as the 10-50kW N + 1 with built-in smart battery modules increases system reliability thanks to redundancy over battery lines equipped with advanced monitoring and auto-detection functions. The solution reduces risk by ensuring load protection and predictability of the system's automatically calculated battery life. By installing batteries inside the UPS enclosure, the solution is very compact, well suited for space-constrained spaces, to protect loads of various types, from remote branch office IT loads to small industrial systems. The presence of N + 1 redundancy allows you to abandon the construction of external systems from several parallel UPS.

Galaxy VS is a versatile platform based on which UPS are built for the whole world, and depending on the requirements for power and battery life, various solutions are available for different countries and voltages. Since entering the Russian market in April 2019, the Galaxy VS lineup has expanded significantly, and now UPS are available in the power range from 20 to 150 kW without built-in batteries (for long battery life) and from 10 to 1000 kW with built-in modular batteries. With up to 99% efficiency and support for lithium-ion batteries, you can increase the real life of the solution.

According to the manufacturer, the Galaxy VS 10-50 kW with built-in smart battery modules increases system reliability thanks to backup over battery lines equipped with advanced monitoring and auto-detection functions, reducing risks by providing confidence in load protection and predictable, automatically calculated system battery life. By installing batteries inside the UPS enclosure, the solution is compact, suitable for space-constrained spaces, to protect loads of various types, from remote branch office IT loads to small industrial systems.

According to November 2019, depending on power requirements, battery life, various solutions are available for different countries and voltages: 10-50 kW (400V), 10-25 kW (208V) and 20-50 kW (480V).
