Assembly for StarFive VisionFive V2 board

BaseALT announced on May 12, 2023 that it continues to develop support for the RISC-V platform in Alt operating systems. The developers have released a new experimental build (technological release) of the Simply Linux Risc-V operating system for the StarFive VisionFive V2 board. This is an initiative development of the vendor, ahead of the market needs.

Assemblies for HiFive Unmatched, HiFive Unleashed and QEMU boards are also available for download.

This build is intended for developers and experienced users interested in developing the free software ecosystem for the RISC-V architecture. All source code is open source and hosted in the Sisyphus riscv64 repository, which the ALT Linux Team community has been developing since 2018.

The image of the Simply Linux RISC-V operating system has been tested on QEMU, VisionFive V2 and SiFi boards. Two images with slinux-rv-20230422-riscv64.img.xz and slinux-rv-vf2-20230422-riscv64.img.xz cores are assembled for the StarFive VisionFive V2 board and other RISC-V-enabled boards. The next version of Simply Linux works not only on x86 computers (32-bit and 64-bit Intel and AMD). There is wide support for systems on 64-bit ARMv8 processors, including:

2017: Simply Linux. Issue 8

BASEALT released a new version of the Simply Linux 8 operating system in early July 2017.
