2021: Market Entry

Ed-Tech company Skyeng April 13, 2021 announced the entry into the market of additional vocational education. The company launched its own online university of digital professions Sky.pro. According to her estimates, over the past year, the DPO market has grown 4 times and exceeded the mark of 100 billion rubles. Skyeng is going to occupy 20% of this market in five years and raise professional training in the country to another level.

The DPO segment in Russia is growing rapidly, second only to the American market in terms of growth rates. This is facilitated by the fact that public education does not have time to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and does not give a person all the skills necessary to obtain a highly paid profession. Russians have to get them on their own, paying for various online courses. The problem is that, on average, only 12% of students pass them to the end, so the level of professional competencies in the country remains low.

We decided to fundamentally change the situation and create our own online academy of digital professions Skypro, "says Khariton Matveev, CEO Sky.pro and co-founder of Skyeng. - Our courses should take at least 80% of students to the end. We plan to achieve such a figure not only by attracting strong teaching practitioners and interesting content closely related to real work tasks, but also through the use of social mechanics. Students will receive personal development plans, deep feedback and employment assistance after graduation Sky.pro.

According to him, the company wants to increase the level of competence in the country as a whole, because "a wonderful future will not come until each of us begins to perform our work more qualitatively. The request for additional education for April 2021 is huge, and it is necessary to give people the opportunity to change their lives by spending a minimum of time and gaining maximum useful skills. "

Skyeng intends to spend about 350 million rubles on creating the Sky.pro in the first year. It is planned that by the end of 2021 at least 7 thousand students will study at an online university, and revenue will be about 300 million rubles. In 2022, revenue should grow four times, in three years - to reach 5 billion rubles, and in five years - 20 billion rubles. That is, by 2026, Skyeng is going to occupy a fifth of the Russian DPO market.

As of April 2021, the online university offers training in three professions (analyst, data QA engineer and web developer) and 40 courses (including in,, to programming to marketing analytics, design, management, etc.). The average cost of one course is 20 thousand rubles, additional education in one profession is 70 thousand rubles. By the end of 2021, it is planned to launch 15 professions and more than 70 courses.
