On November 20, 2020, it became known about the investments attracted by EdTech startup Skyeng from Baring Vostok and billionaire Vladimir Potanin's Winter Capital Partners fund.
The funding round took place back in October 2020, Skyeng managing partner Alexander Laryanovsky told Forbes. He did not disclose the terms of the transaction and preferred to focus on the company's business in a conversation with the publication.

According to Laryanovsky, from the beginning of 2020 by November 20, the number of Skyeng customers doubled - 50% higher than expected. 15 thousand teachers are registered on the site, who conduct classes for 120 thousand students, he added.
Forbes called Skyeng the most expensive educational. In startup Russia 2020, the magazine included Skyeng in the list of the most expensive 20 companies - RuNet the online school took 13th place with an estimate of $130 million.
Winter Capital will continue to actively invest in online education, fund managing director Vasily Nikolaev told Forbes. He called the sector "one of the key verticals of the fund." 2018: Baring Vostok Investment
