Skyrobot: The drone with AI and the IR sensor

Product
The name of the base system (platform): Artificial intelligence (AI, Artificial intelligence, AI)
Developers: Skyrobot
Branches: Agriculture and fishery
Technology: Robotics,  Video surveillance systems

The Japanese startup of Skyrobot developing systems on the basis of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) decided to help local farmers to protect agricultural grounds from attacks of wild animals. For fight against uninvited guests the company suggests to use the hardware and software system consisting of the quadcopter, the camera with the IR sensor and systems with artificial intelligence. In October, 2017 the Japanese edition Nikkei reported about it.[1]

Skyrobot drone

As envisioned by developers, flying about the under control territory, the drone will identify the animals approaching fields and to frighten off them using a high-frequency signal or sounds of a rupture of petards. Thanks to the specialized camera capable to remove both in the normal mode, and in infrared, potential violators will not remain unnoticed even at night and in the forest area.

Besides, a system on the basis of artificial intelligence will analyze the materials which are finished shooting by the drone that on the basis of habits and traces of animals to predict their behavior.

It is noted that the Skyrobot complex provides participation of the person: the solution when to include the frightening-off signal, the operators remotely monitoring a system accept. Further it is going to equip UAVs small to balls, containing a repellent with a repellent smell which the drone will be able to reset in the specified place.

According to Nikkei, start of Skyrobot service is planned for October, 2017. According to information on a developer's site, cost in day is 200 thousand yens (about $1800), plus taxes.[2]

In July, 2017 it was announced carrying out tests of the Skyrobot complex in the Prefecture of Gunma to the northwest from Tokyo where local farmlands suffer from attacks of monkeys and wild boars. Also before commercial implementation a system was tested in the prefecture of Nagano where on farmer lands bears come.[3]
