2022: Announcement of digital lock for doors and barriers
On June 1, 2022, Rostec announced the SmartAirKey hardware and software complex, designed to identify and control access using a smartphone. The system allows you to open any electromechanical and electromagnetic locks with a digital cryptographic key using a mobile application.
SmartAirKey consists of a secure cloud platform and a management controller that is installed at access points. The system consolidates electronic keys to doors, barriers and turnstiles in a single service adapted for iOS and Android operating systems .
According to the developers, SmartAirKey, unlike competing developments, can work even outside the coverage area of the Internet: an application in a smartphone communicates with a controller via a crypto-secure protocol via Bluetooth in the background, opening the lock of a connected device at a distance of up to 30 meters. Thanks to the "free hands" function, you can, for example, open the barrier when entering the parking lot or call the elevator without pressing the buttons.
In addition, using SmartAirKey, you can administer access to objects: provide guest or paid access, vary its levels and time intervals. The unified format of a secure digital key also allows you to create distributed city access control systems, providing the ability to exchange keys, including temporary ones, to various organizations, offices, residential complexes with the provision of data authorization through public services.
The product was developed by Smartairkey, a joint venture of RT-Design Technologies holding (a subsidiary of Rostec) and Kibtech LLC (engaged in the creation of high-tech access control systems using smartphones).[1]
