2024: Product Announcement

Cognitive Pilot, a subsidiary of Sberbank and Cognitive Technologies, developed and demonstrated in May 2024 a fully autonomous cab-free mini-tractor controlled by artificial intelligence. This is the first unmanned agricultural robot of this kind in Russia, the manufacturer claims.

The mini-tractor was completely designed and manufactured at the Cognitive Pilot factory for the production of robotic products in Tomsk. According to the developers, the use of a group of such small robots will allow you to flexibly scale field work depending on the size of the site. In addition, a unique feature is the quality control system implemented on board.

The quality of agricultural operations of our mini-tractor can be controlled by the equipment itself on each square meter of the field. For this, the necessary set of sensors is installed on plows, harrows and other equipment, - explained Anton Emelyanov, managing partner of Cognitive Pilot.

He added that despite the small dimensions (1.4x1.5x2.2 m), the machine's performance will be ensured by the ability to work around the clock, as well as group interaction of several robots. The mini-tractor is capable of performing all the main agricultural operations using a wide range of attachments: sowing, cultivation, plowing, spraying, and so on.

Emelyanov stressed that the robot can also be equipped with a system for the point application of fertilizers based on spectrometric soil analysis. Artificial intelligence allows not only to avoid collisions, but also to process row cultures with high accuracy, moving between rows.

According to Cognitive Pilot, the mini-tractor belongs to the class of hybrid machines. Its power is 30 hp, and its weight is 970 kg. It has a gasoline generator, energy from which is supplied to electric motors. Thanks to the use of gearboxes, the tractor has a high traction force comparable to full-size models.

The company expects that the use of unmanned mini-tractors will solve the problem of the shortage of machine operators in agriculture. Serial production of autonomous robots is scheduled to begin in 2025.[1]
