2021: Electric scooter recognition module on city streets

• On Perm IT June 28, 2021, the company announced that it had taught neuronet to recognize electroscooters on city streets.

The created electric scooter recognition module will help protect roads and sidewalks, determine by the intensity of scooters, where it is necessary to allocate a lane with a special high-speed mode for them.

"For several months, we taught the neural network using real photos and video footage of city streets. Now the artificial intelligence of our software TrafficData Land can find scooters themselves on the video and determine their speed, "said Ivan Chebykin, CEO of IT company.

Perm company TrafficData specializes in creating software for intelligent transport systems. With its help, road traffic monitoring, adaptive regulation of roads, traffic lights and smart parking are implemented.

Sales of electric scooters in Russia tripled over the year. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, since the beginning of 2021, the number of accidents involving electric scooters has increased by 200%. So, in Moscow, 24 accidents were recorded, in St. Petersburg - 22, in the Krasnodar Territory - 12, the Sverdlovsk Region - 6, and in the Perm Territory - 4. With the growth of incidents in large cities of the country, a campaign to impose restrictions began.
