2023: Adding a search system, scanning the area with antennas and drones

UMNO digital on December 7, 2023 presented an updated version of the Smart Depot product. The developers implemented a search system, scanning the territory with antennas and drones. As a result, users see in real time the location of parts on the virtual map of the enterprise, record all stages of repair of carts and wheelsets, and also automatically receive data from the profiler and other devices into accounting systems. An additional feature is the integration of data and the automatic filling of logs. Updates can be used by any enterprise, even those where accounting systems are not implemented.

"Smart Depot" helps to organize accounting, reduce the time and automate inventory, minimize errors due to the human factor and paper document circulation. When implementing technology and automation of processes, resources are freed up, the number of errors, claims and fines is reduced. The main tools: magnetic RFID tags that are mounted on wheelsets, as well as readers - with their help they find the part and transmit repair information to the accounting systems.

A lot of human resources are spent on finding the desired wheelset. The company is confident that the emerging settings of Smart Depot will make it more convenient and faster. The developers have set up a reader to work on the principle of "hot-cold." The master receives a signal, the more intense he is, the closer the part is. The search works at a distance of 5-10 meters.

Drones and antennas have become available to users of the technology to scan the territory. The drone is programmed for daily flights along the same route at an altitude of 10-12 meters. It automatically collects data and updates part location information. Thanks to stationary antennas that continuously scan the area, dispatchers see details on a virtual map and track their movement through workshops and open areas.

Among the additional equipment used in Smart Depot are laser profilers. They read the full profile of the wheel and transmit the information to the system. It is also possible to use machine vision technology to recognize part numbers on tags and axes.

Another update - "Smart Depot" now digitizes not only the repair of wheelsets, but also the complete set of the entire trolley. In addition, when implementing the product, IT company experts create a technological map of the enterprise. The customer receives both the software itself and a description of the processes with recommendations.

Technology developers have improved accounting. The electronic journal is now being formed immediately in the Smart Depot interface. It fills automatically as parts go through the repair stages. If necessary, employees upload and sign the printed form of the journal. The company continues to develop the product - in 2024, electronic signatures in the magazine and other useful functions will appear.
