Underwater Arctic robots for hydrocarbon production

The Russian companies in 2018 will start development of prototypes of perspective autonomous underwater complexes of seismic exploration and drilling. Such task is entered to the draft of the "Social and Economic Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation until 2025" state program which at a meeting of the Government was submitted yesterday by the prime minister Dmitry Medvedev. Underwater robots will be intended for search, arrangement of fields and hydrocarbon production both on the Arctic shelf, and in any other region of the World Ocean. The leading Russian enterprises of United Shipbuilding Corporation and Rosatom state corporation are involved in their creation. Direct works on design of complexes will be performed by Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering (CDB MT) Rubin in interaction with the Fund of Perspective Researches (FPR).

According to preliminary estimates, use of robots for search and extraction of the Arctic oil will give to Russia advantages in comparison with the existing methods and the technical systems — ground sensors and surface courts from seysmokosa.

— The fund of perspective researches implements several years a series of the projects directed to underwater autonomous mastering of minerals of the Arctic seas. Within accomplishment of these works of CDB ME "Rubin" technical proposals on creation of the main subsystems, the most important of which are subsystems of seismic exploration and autonomous drilling, are developed. In addition, underwater autonomous complexes of power supply and transportation are developed — the deputy CEO of FPI Denisov Igor^[1] told Izvestia ^[2].

According to him, together with the partner organizations by fund the big package of proposals from which row is included in the draft of the state program "Social and economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation until 2025" is prepared. In particular, the program provides creation of a natural prototype of an underwater complex of seismic exploration and working off of technology of continuous underwater drilling based on testing of a prototype of the robotic module. The Russian enterprises will start their creation since 2018.

The project of a prototype of a robotic system developed by CDB Rubin for seismic exploration on the Arctic shelf assumes creation lowered on a seabed from the surface vessel or from the submarine of "garage" on several mini-submarines with gidro-and the geoacoustic sensors capable a progressive tense to be in autonomous swimming and to conduct researches of the shelf of the World Ocean on availability of minerals.
