Watson Assistant for Citizens

At the beginning of April, 2020 IBM started the voice assistant to Watson Assistant for Citizens — a new solution for chat-bots using which citizens will be able to receive the reference concerning COVID-19. The voice assistant is free of charge provided to government agencies, health facilities and the academic organizations within 90 days.

The voice assistant to Watson Assistant for Citizens who integrates services IBM Watson Assistant and Watson Discovery and possibilities of AI from IBM Research uses data of the Centers for control and prevention of diseases and local sources, such as news on closing of schools, documents on the state websites and many other things. As a result he is capable to answer many questions of a new coronavirus by phone or in a chat online. For example, Watson Assistant for Citizens can answer such frequently asked questions how "What symptoms of COVID-19?", "As it is correct to clean up the house?" and "How to protect itself?"

Watson Assistant for Citizens includes 15 previously prepared requests and can be integrated with internal systems of planning of corporate resources to include in the answers information concerning the specific city or the region. For example, the assistant to state agencies of the state can answer how many cases are registered in the region whether schools were for a long time closed and where it is possible to pass test.

Watson Assistant for Citizens is available in English and Spanish, but can be adapted for 13 different languages. IBM says that the voice assistant is already used by the public and medical institutions in the USA and also a number of the organizations in the Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Great Britain and other countries.^[1]
