DoubleGIS creates distributed system of backup

Softline together with DoubleGIS company created geographically distributed system of backup on the platform of the Symantec Backup Exec 2012 software products, the press service of Softline reported on August 23, 2013.

Project Background

IT infrastructure of the customer represents geographically distributed system of the offices united in the general network. For August 20, 2013 at the company more than 500 personal computers. Earlier in DoubleGIS the solution for ensuring safety of data was used, but in process of development of IT infrastructure it ceased to conform to requirements regarding backup.

IT department was faced by a problem of upgrade of a system of safety of data. It was required to provide backup at all offices and representations on a case of the accidents, accidents, other influences capable to lead to complete or partial loss of copies.

Main selection terms of software:

• reliability of technology
• support of a big range of OS
• existence of functionality of work with virtual machines.

The software solution Symantec Backup Exec creating backup copies of VM under VMware and Hyper-V implementing complete recovery including without use of the equipment due to conversion of a physical medium to virtual met all above-mentioned requirements.

Project Progress

The Softline company was selected from quality of the supplier of a product. Process of implementing solution took place step by step, in the planned terms, together with technical specialists of the customer.
