2022: Opening of the South Sukhokum Solar Power Plant

In the Republic of Dagestan, the opening of the South Sukhokum solar power plant with a capacity of 15 MW, the first major solar generation facility in the region, took place. This was announced on July 11, 2022 by Hevel.

The investor and the general contractor of the project were Hevel structures. The connection of this solar generation facility to the network infrastructure was provided by specialists from Rosseti North Caucasus.

The station consists of 40 thousand solar modules and covers an area of more than 30 hectares (40 football fields occupy this area). The projected volume of electricity generation will be 20 million kWh per year, which will ensure an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 7 thousand tons.

The volume of investments project in is 1.5 billion. rubles During the implementation of the project, about 60 jobs were created for the period constructions and 13 permanent jobs, local contractors were also involved.

The company is considering the possibility of further increasing the capacity of solar generation in the region, including through the construction of local and distributed generation facilities using renewable energy sources.

The commissioning of solar generation facilities will contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the Republic of Dagestan, improving the quality and reliability of power supply to consumers, as well as preserving the natural and climatic conditions of the region.

2021: Plans to build a 15MW solar power plant in the region

On April 27, 2021, the Acting Head of the Republic of Dagestan Sergey Melikov met with the leadership of the Hevel Group of Companies. The parties discussed plans to build a 15 MW solar power plant in the region. The project will be implemented on the territory of the urban district of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk.

The volume of investments in the implementation of the project will exceed 1 billion rubles. Construction work on the site will begin this summer, the commissioning of the solar generation facility is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022. The projected volume of environmentally friendly electricity generation will be about 20 million kWh per year, which will ensure an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 10.6 thousand tons. The project will be the first major industrial source of solar energy in the region.

It is expected that the emergence of the energy complex will help reduce the energy deficit in the region, increase the reliability of energy supply to the population and industrial enterprises, as well as create additional jobs and tax revenues.

According to the head of the republic, the first meeting with the leadership of the Hevel Group of Companies became determining the further direction of joint work, and it is connected with the solution of the problem issue for the region regarding the supply of electricity to settlements.
