Tele2 invests 750 million rubles in development of telecommunication infrastructure of the Volgograd region

On April 17, 2019 Tele2 reported that they together with and administration of the Volgograd region signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of development of communication services. In 2019 the operator is going to invest 750 million rubles in development of telecommunication infrastructure of the region.

The cooperation purpose – interaction of the operator and government of the region in the field of development of information and telecommunication infrastructure, increase in investments into economy of area and implementation of socially important projects.

Agreement signature promotes the solution of an important social problem of the region. The operator creates a favorable environment for digital service development in the region: the company expands a qualitative covering and makes mobile communication available in the territory of the Volgograd region, including in the small and remote localities.

During 2019 the operator is going to expand a cellular transmission network and to upgrade the equipment in Volgograd and more than in 20 districts of the area for development of services 4G. For April, 2019 3G networks and LTE are available 89% and 82% of residents of the Volgograd region respectively, and 99.4% of the population of the region live in a zone of a voice covering.

Since launch of Tele2 network in the Volgograd region, in 2015, the company systematically was engaged in improvement of network infrastructure. Agreement signature with administration of the Volgograd region is directed to improvement of economic climate in the region, reduction of digital inequality and increase in availability of the mobile Internet to the population. Tele2 is ready to invest considerable means in development of mobile services in the Volgograd region, expanding a covering and increasing capacity of networks. Under the terms of the agreement, the operator will also support significant social projects in the region. So, in 2019 Tele2 will provide with communication of 27 localities according to standards 4G/3G/2G, at the same time ten of them are out of a coverage other mobile operators.
