"Zyfra" introduced automatic dispatching at the mine "Alrosa" in Udachny

2023: Implementation of industrial equipment and personnel monitoring system with the help of Vista Group

VIST Group, a Russian developer of IT solutions for the mining industry (part of the Zyfra Group of Companies), announced on April 3, 2023 the completion of a large-scale digital project at the Udachny Yakut underground mine of AK ALROSA (PJSC), a diamond mining company in the world in terms of production. An automated underground mining dispatching system (ASD SGR) was introduced at the mine. The system makes it possible to organize operational control and effective control of production processes, production and transportation of rock mass. Digitalization of processes increased the performance of equipment at Udachny by 12%.

The implemented system not only collects and processes information on the status and operation of underground equipment, calculates indicators of its effectiveness, but also allows you to control the operation of mining equipment and manage the volume of ore mined.  Thanks to the system, the dispatcher monitors the operation of the entire fleet of vehicles in real time, as well as each unit separately. In total, 48 pieces of equipment were connected to the SDA SGR, including mine dump trucks, drilling rigs, loading and delivery machines, auxiliary equipment, as well as 15 pieces of stationary equipment. 

Now at the Udachny mine, continuous monitoring of the technological process is carried out with prompt notification of the dispatcher about the deviations made and the reasons for their occurrence, for example, about speeding, delay in the presence of equipment in downtime, etc.

For this project, a special messenger was developed, especially relevant for underground mining, where there is no stable connection. Over the service network, the dispatcher can write messages to the drivers both separately and make mass mailing, and the drivers, when getting in touch, can answer and initiate requests themselves. 

The entire diamond mining workflow is displayed in real time on information panels that allow you to monitor the statuses of the equipment, the ore mining process and performance indicators in general and each piece of equipment separately. The system also allows you to track the movements of equipment for arbitrary previous periods of time. In addition, SDA SGR makes the ore flow control transparent, since it provides a continuous flow of information on monitoring the movement of ore from mining to its delivery to the surface, taking into account intermediate warehouses and ore passes, displays the volume of loaded or unloaded ore in ore pools. shared the details of the project, General Director of Zyfra Group Sergey Emelchenkov.

The implementation of this project using digital tools made it possible to move to another level of work. A transparent environment has been created where all events that occur are available for viewing, analysis, monitoring and management. The obtained data are based on measures to improve the operational efficiency of mining equipment, the implementation of which increased the efficiency and productivity of the underground mine.
