Axelot WMS X5 system implemented at Apple City Corps warehouse

2022: Introduction of Axelot WMS X5 in a warehouse in Almaty with an area of ​ ​ 2500 sq. m

The AXELOT WMS X5 system has been implemented at the Apple City Corps warehouse with the help of which: tracking the quality of individual work of warehouse employees at all stages, setting up a clear adherence to the FEFO and FEFO + principles, which contributed to increasing control over the shelf life of goods and reducing the occurrence of illiquids due to the fault of the warehouse. This was announced by AXELOT on May 12, 2022.

Apple City Corps warehouses have already been automated. However, the existing system has ceased to meet the needs of the business. The lack of flexibility in terms of development and the high cost of improvements prompted the company's management to decide on the replacement of WMS.

The pilot project was implemented by AXELOT SOFT specialists at the Apple City Corps warehouse in Almaty. The area of ​ ​ the warehouse complex of class "A" is 2500 square meters. m, and the assortment is approximately 500 SKU. There are two temperature storage modes - "warm warehouse" and "refrigerator." The implementation of this WMS system made it possible to significantly revise and optimize the organization of warehouse processes.

After the introduction of AXELOT WMS X5, warehouse employees no longer need to monitor the shelf life of goods, WMS automatically selects the exact place of storage where the goods with the necessary characteristics are located. In this case, you can assign different permissible shelf life periods for different counterparties. So, for stores of category A, goods are shipped with a shelf life that expires in at least 90 + days, and for stores of categories B and The item with the minimum remaining shelf life is shipped from. Within the framework of the project, several interesting solutions were also implemented. So, for example, a waiting mechanism was implemented in the algorithm for replenishing the unit sampling zone from the pallet zone.

A motivational scheme was developed and implemented to calculate the bonus part for line personnel, which helps to increase the efficiency of each specific employee. The AXELOT WMS X5 system administrators were also trained, thanks to which it was possible to form a competence center for the customer and not only provide an independent "first line "of support for system users, but also build a process of independent verification of the correctness of processes, full and partial testing of functionality, system work with changes.

The DATAREON ESB data service bus was implemented to configure data exchange between WMS and CIS. The project team on the part of the customer took the most active part at all stages of the project, the established interaction between the teams was one of the factors that contributed to its successful implementation.

The transition to AXELOT WMS X5 is an important strategic decision of Apple City Corps management, which inextricably links effective business development with the need to use the best IT products. As a result of the project, not only qualitative and quantitative indicators of warehouse operation have increased, the company now has extensive opportunities for further development and optimization of logistics using current automation tools.
