2024: Digitization of more than 260 thousand sheets of archival documents
ELAR Corporation has digitized more than 260 thousand sheets of archival documents for the Archive of the city of Sevastopol, including administration cases, household books, protocols, orders and other documents of permanent shelf life. Elar announced this on June 26, 2024.
In the GKU "Archive of the city of Sevastopol" collected more than 750 thousand funds, including the pre-revolutionary period. The earliest paper-based business held in the archive dates from the late 18th century.
The array digitized on the ELAR planetary scanners is archival documents sewn into business. Electronic copies were created, among other things, for case covers, sheet revolutions with all records and marks made by hand, as well as for graphs, diagrams, maps to the 2A0 format. Among the documents of a large format, in particular, household books, are accounting documentation, where a census of the rural population is kept, registration of family property, family relations, dates of birth and death, dates of construction of the house are specified. The practice of keeping household books has been going on since about 1935.
Contactless scanning technologies ensured the safety of the originals and the reference quality of electronic copies. Scanning was carried out in color mode with an optical resolution of at least 400 dpi. The high result is also achieved due to a well-functioning production cycle of digitization, which includes a large number of interconnected stages - document preparation, scanning, symbol processing, data indexing.
The archive of the city of Sevastopol provides the user with the opportunity to study archival documents in the electronic reading room in the automated information system AIS "ELAR-Archive."
