"Elar" digitized the documents of the archive fund of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug

2023: Digitization of Archive Fund Documents

In several municipal archives of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, projects have been completed to create an information resource based on electronic copies of documents of permanent shelf life. Elar announced this on November 30, 2023.

Thus, from the funds of the municipal archive of the Administration of the city of Noyabrsk, about 880 cases were digitized and loaded into the GIS EA system - this is more than 136,000 sheets. The array was archived documents of the permanent shelf life of the A4 format, as well as non-standard documents of the format from A6 to A0. Both printed and handwritten originals, tracing paper, newspaper sheets, archival photographs were digitized carefully and in high quality.

All documents were digitized on professional ELAR scanners of various modifications designed to safely scan all types of stitched, embroidered, large-format documents and film media. The production cycle of digitization consisted of a large number of interconnected stages, including document decryption, scanning, symbol processing, data indexing, loading the array into the state information system "Electronic Archive of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug."

Similar projects for digitizing documents and filling the GIS EA took place in the municipal archives of the Tazovsky and Purovsky districts of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, as well as the municipal archive of the Labytnanga City Administration. Cooperation on the digitalization of municipal archives is planned to continue in 2024.
