2023: Creation of Internal Power Supply Systems Project
In the fall of 2023, ABT received an order to create a project for internal power supply systems as part of the reconstruction of an automobile checkpoint across the Russian state border in the city of Orsk (Orenburg region). In the design, the company used the nanoCAD BIM Electro software solution . As part of the reconstruction of the facility - a one-story building of our own purpose with access to the attic and a certain set of plumbing devices, technological equipment and ventilation systems - we had to design networks of power electrical equipment and lighting systems. Horizontal routing of distribution lines was provided for open in trays in the electrical room. Lighting networks in the inspection area should be hidden behind the suspended ceiling in the PVC pipe and tray, in the electrical room - located openly in the tray. Group power networks should go from group boards in a metal tray behind a suspended ceiling, drops - hidden in a bar. Cables VVgNG (A) -LS and VVgNG (A) -FRLS were assumed as cables supplying lines and group networks of working and emergency lighting; supply networks and distribution lines of other electric receivers - VVgNG (A) -LS. The main difficulty was the laying of cable lines and linking the power supply system with consolidated sections for automatic verification in the event of changes to the project.
We needed software that would meet the requirements of the current standards SP 256, GOST 28249-93, PUE 7, etc., and also met GOST for the execution of final documentation for transfer to the state examination. When choosing a product of the nanoCAD line, we proceeded from such capabilities of this tool as the selection of equipment and cable using calculations in the built model of utility power supply networks and automatic specification of the built model of networks. In addition, nanoCAD BIM Electro allows you to fulfill the customer's requirements for the formation of the most detailed model of the designed systems, ensuring the possibility of creating a consolidated BIM model of the object within the framework of the implementation of Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of September 15, 2020 No. 1431, as well as on the integration of the product for working with users in Revit.
In the technological part of the project, specialized lighting devices were provided for connecting power supply systems. Therefore, the presence in the program database of most equipment suppliers used in the project has become a big and pleasant plus, which saved us time.
To solve the connection problem, we used a flexible tool for creating and editing the equipment base, which allows you to set the parameters necessary for lighting calculation: light flux, type of light source, etc., as well as implement a three-dimensional display of the installation method for the summary BIM model.
When selecting the switching equipment and cable, the built-in tool "Process Assignment" was used, which is based on the specified settings of typical connection groups. The tool allows you to pre-specify the necessary values of the demand factor for calculating loads or use the current building codes taking into account the characteristics of capacity and quantity of equipment.
Calculating the network model, unloading network diagrams, annotating network elements, creating specifications for equipment, products and materials - all this is carried out automatically. Execution of such projects taking into account manual drawing of diagrams, their calculation and arrangement of annotations takes at least three months. With nanoCAD BIM, Electro needed two. In parallel, due to automation, errors in calculations were minimized.
The company achieved its main goal within the framework of the project: they issued high-quality documentation as soon as possible, with a subsequent reduction in the cost of undergoing state examination due to a reduction in the number of comments from the expert and, accordingly, the time for revision. In general, the use of nanoCAD BIM Electro increased the efficiency of the design process by 40%.
