On November 20, 2020 Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation started tender on development micro processor "Elbrus-32C" for which it is ready to pay nearly 7.5 billion rubles. Data demonstrate to it portal of state procurements.
Department looks for the contractor of the developmental works (DW) which result will be a creation of the universal 32nd nuclear microprocessor. The last will be applied in creation of computing systems in a class of high-end servers and storage systems of the highest level of performance and the super computer, according to the tender.
In the same place it is specified that Elbrus-32C will have performance of teraflopovy and petaflopovy ranges. New development will be used for equipment of the industrial and special systems, organizations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the space industry and nuclear power, artificial intelligence. Operating temperature range of the processor will be-60 — +90 Celsius degrees.
That company with which the contract will be signed will have to involve over the tender small business entities, or socially oriented non-profit organization of 15% of the cost of the contract, or itself should treat these organizations.
From the federal budget 7.49 billion rubles, including 966.8 million rubles in 2020, 1.18 billion rubles in the 2021st and 675.2 million rubles in the 2022nd will be selected for project implementation.
The results of tender are going to be summed up on December 17, 2020.
By November 23, 2020 the emergence of an engineering sample announced at the beginning of October, 2020 16-core Elbrus-16C with topology in 16 nanometers became the last achievement of MCST regarding release of chips. It has clock rate of 2 GHz and has performance of 1.5 Tflops at so-called single precision. Development will continue until the end of 2021.[1][2][3][4]
