2023: Installation and commissioning of MLDPS of global navigation satellite systems

Sitronics KT (part of Sitronics Group) has completed the installation and commissioning of the marine local differential subsystem (MLDPS) of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District by order of FSUE Hydrographic Enterprise. Sitronics announced this on January 16, 2024.

The set of equipment put into operation is designed to provide a high-precision navigation mode on the routes of the Northern Sea Route by transmitting differential GLONASS GNSS corrections to ships/using GPS a medium-wave beacon operating in the frequency range of 283.5-325 kHz in the format determined by the international standard RTCM SC-104.

The range of the station can reach 400 km, depending on the conditions for the spread of radio waves. Installation of the equipment is carried out in accordance with the terms of reference developed by FSUE Hydrographic Enterprise.

The ongoing measures to modernize six control and corrective stations (KKS) located along the NSR route provide for the replacement of outdated and developed equipment with new ones with special software for navigation modules that take into account changes in the GNSS GLONASS frequency plan and the introduced new signals will increase the safety of navigation in areas with a difficult navigation situation, - said Alexander Bengert, General Director of FSUE Hydrographic Enterprise.

The control and correcting station (KKS) will improve the safety of navigation on the Northern Sea Route due to more accurate positioning of ships, where, according to international requirements, the accuracy of determining the place should be no worse than 10 m. This is the seventh KKS commissioned by our company in the Arctic zone, - said the director of development Sitronics KT Evgeny Shishenin.
