On April 29, 2014 it became known of an implementation project of software "Performance Monitor" in IT-landshaft KES Holding (Integrated Energy Systems Ltd).
Project Tasks
The information system of KES Holding (Integrated Energy Systems Ltd) is characterized by large volumes of data, in its structure about 60 information bases of three standard configurations: 1C Accounting, 1C ZUP, 1C Document flow, 5 servers 1C, 2 DBMS servers, 20 servers of terminals.
In these conditions the enterprise faced questions of audit and monitoring of performance, and the most important - need not only to solve these problems in one step, but quickly to define and solve similar problems and further, during operation and development of an information system, in a short time, limited human resources.
Project Progress
Involved to solving of tasks as the 1C specialist of the Gilev.ru command. During audit system performance assessment, job analysis of the equipment – processors, work with memory, a disk subsystem, network transmission capacity, servers of 1C and SQL, servers of terminals, their interaction are carried out.
At job analysis of databases 1C key transactions of a system, long requests, expectations on blocking are investigated, on the listed sections – recommendations about optimization are made. The plans of requests which allowed to understand the reasons of slow requests are analyzed and methods to fix problems by adding of indexes, updating of statistics, optimization of regulations of reorganization of indexes, change of the text of a request by obtaining quantity of output lines, more convenient for forecasting, correction of RLS, simplification of requests through creation of package requests.
Upon the analysis and the problem resolution the company contractor suggested to implement performance monitoring system for reflection of data:
- Indicators of operation of the server hardware
- Speed of carrying out main transactions 1C
- Blocking and deadlocks of DBMS
- Status of the SQL server and databases 1C
- Analysis of events of the technology magazine 1C
- With control of key performance indicators and sending warnings by e-mail at emergence of problems.
Project Results
System implementation helped:
- receive an objective picture about performance and stability of all information systems of the company,
- an opportunity to monitor trends in change of a system behavior,
- there was an opportunity to prevent possible problems beforehand, i.e. at emergence of problems information on deterioration in performance comes quickly and the IT department learns about a problem still before the user decides to complain of system operation.
Automatic monitoring of a large amount of bases helped to avoid costs for the manual analysis and monitoring of a system with involvement of specialists, costs of time and resources. The response time on the arising problems decreased from two to fifteen o'clock minutes.
