2025: Automation of New Product Development
ITMS Group (formerly BAT Russia) has automated the development of new products and packaging formats on the BPMSoft platform from BPMSoft. The first MVP of the system was created in two, and the project was fully implemented in four months by experts from Intech Consulting. BPMSoft announced this on February 18, 2025.
When choosing a solution that replaced two previously used Western IT systems, ITMS focused on price/functionality and successful implementation cases. In the context of strict legislative regulation of the tobacco industry and close attention to the production of nicotine-containing products by the supervisory authorities, ITMS was looking for a vendor who was ready to offer a customizable low-code tool, and not ready-made boxed software.
As of February 2025, the BPMSoft platform has more than 20 negotiation schemes configured for the company's two key business processes. Firstly, this is the process of agreeing on a new package: from the receipt of commercial offers from marketing agencies into a cloud accounting system integrated with BPMSoft to legal approval of layouts. Secondly, the launch of innovative products passing through the development and production departments.
In total, more than 150 employees are actively working in the system. BPMSoft records approval statuses and expert opinions, for example, the results of chemical checks for compliance with permissible nicotine content standards. In case of failure, the system automatically returns the task to the previous stage with mandatory comments from the approvers. BPMSoft also analyzes the number of iterations for each approval, which allows you to improve processes, evaluate department KPIs and calculate the cost of work of external marketing agencies.
The implementation of the SLA parameter to monitor task times has become a key change that was previously missing. Employees now receive automatic notification of delays, which improves the efficiency of project management and implementation. To simplify the work of international teams, BPMSoft has support for two languages - Russian and English. Multilingual notifications allow you to effectively interact with both internal and external partners.
The functionality of BPMSoft and the expertise of Intech Consulting employees allowed us to localize the BPM system in a short time. Instead of two previously used IT systems, all processes are now implemented on the same platform, which has reduced the cost of ownership and maintenance of the IT landscape by 40%. Business feedback is positive. At a recent meeting of the operations department, the Director of Production, Logistics and Product praised the system, noting its convenience, speed and flexibility, said Artyom Nikulin, senior IT business partner of ITMS.
