In early March 2025, it became known that the Russian company ITELMA had introduced specialized robotic installations for the production of automotive electronics. The use of these machines completely eliminates the human factor from the production processes.
ITELMA uses industrial robots of various types, in particular, Fanuc and Mitsubishi Electric manipulators. These installations made it possible to fully automate the production process, due to which the participation of people is minimal. This approach helps to increase the efficiency of product production and improve its quality. Robots assemble electronic units for various vehicles.
Earlier it was reported that MetraRobotics implemented a project for the ITELMA enterprise to automate the programming and testing of ERA-GLONASS units. The created complex is made in the form of three modular stations placed in a single metal case. Each station has a high-speed compact industrial robot Fanuc, automatic contact devices specially designed for the product are located. These devices are located on adjustable platforms for setting reference angles in space in order to calibrate the accelerometer in the product. The control system on the high-speed industrial EtherCAT bus is involved.
In addition, a universal cell has been developed for programming and testing engine control units. It is made on the basis of a high-speed six-axis robot. The cell can work with all control units manufactured at the ITELMA plant. The implementation of the project, it is claimed, allowed for flexibility and versatility in testing and programming, as well as reducing the number of human errors.[1]
