In Russia the single platform for work with state data is created

At the beginning of October, 2020 it became known of creation in Russia of a single platform for work with the state data. She received the name "Infrastructure of Research Data" (IRD). The Center of perspective management decisions and Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation were engaged in this project.

The new platform is designed to help researchers to optimize process of work with data of the Russian departments. The project is intended for all who conduct researches in the field of social sciences and experience difficulties during the work with the state data, his authors explained.

Russia develops a single platform for work with state data

It is supposed that, having addressed the INID directory, users will be able to get acquainted with the data sets provided on the website, for example, with the database of the municipal entities of the Russian Federation and the database of the State expenditure project of Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation. On the platform by the beginning of October, 2020 the data obtained from Rosstat, the Ministry of Finance, FTS, etc. are provided.

Further the directory will be replenished with new data sets from federal and regional authorities. As the director of the department of digital transformation of Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Mikhail Petrov explained, providing the state data to researchers, their big availability answer the purposes of Accounts Chamber among which ― increase in transparency of a system of a state administration. The INID project is one of tools using which it will be possible to increase the importance of Big Data at acceptance of important management decisions, he emphasized.

According to the CEO of the Center of perspective management decisions Maria Shklyaruk, first of all the data presented in the form, convenient for work, are necessary for cultural development of decision making on the basis of data.

In spite of the fact that public authorities upload many data publicly, these data are in most cases provided haphazardly and obryvochno. It is difficult to work with such crude material: to use it in researches, it is necessary to process in addition data, it requires a lot of time and efforts — she noted.
