The INNOVATION equipment laboratory shared the success of the transition to the domestic 3D modeling and design preparation system of T-FLEX CAD production, developed by Top Systems. This made it possible to improve the efficiency and quality of design of equipment used for testing products during certification for compliance with safety requirements according to GOST standards. This was reported to the Top Systems on January 25, 2024.

LLC LO Innovation is a member of the Group of Companies and CERCONS is a manufacturer of test equipment for testing products in laboratories and testing centers. The certification process is an important stage in the launch of products on the market and requires high testing accuracy and compliance with GOST standards. The purchase of foreign equipment for testing is associated with many risks: the lack of proven measuring instruments included Russian in the state register, long delivery times, high cost, design flaws, the lack of the possibility of quick repair or replacement of components. All these and other risks can be eliminated thanks to the presence of its own design bureau and a production site equipped with the necessary machine park. This helps to solve various tasks related to confirming the safety of products of any level of complexity, which are produced by domestic or foreign companies and enter the Russian market for such industries as electrical engineering, transport mechanical engineering elevator construction, textile, industry fire safety, construction materials, personal protective equipment, certification of children's products, sports equipment and many others.

The design and preparation of design documentation for the production of test equipment was carried out in one of the foreign CAD systems. The foreign system provided the convenience of 3D modeling, but did not allow drawing drawings in accordance with the ESKD requirements, there was an inconvenience and inaccuracy in the preparation of specifications, a limited set of libraries of standard products and materials according to Russian GOST, and a high licensing cost. After a thorough comparative analysis of various CAD systems, the choice was made in favor of the domestic T-FLEX CAD system (developed by Top Systems), which met functional requirements and had the optimal ratio of cost and functionality.

The T-FLEX CAD implementation process included mastering a new interface, training in modeling and drawing techniques, and working with Top Systems developers to improve product functionality to meet user needs.

The experience with T-FLEX CAD for more than five years confirms its effectiveness. The performance of the design department has been increased by 30%, design and strength calculations have been optimized, and the quality of the documentation meets the requirements of the ESKD. This all significantly reduces the number of defects in production. The system provides extensive libraries of standard products and materials according to GOST, which allows design engineers and technologists to focus on products manufactured on the Russian market in various industries, including electrical engineering, transport engineering, construction materials and others.

The enterprise uses tools for creating express part calculations, automatic creation of schedules, and the ability to visualize designed products using Photorealism. These capabilities not only improve the perception of the appearance of the product, but also facilitate interaction with the customer during the approval stage before launch.

In early 2023, the laboratory switched to the 17th version of the T-FLEX CAD system with more advanced functionality and improvements that increased usability. In the future, the company is considering expanding the use of the T-FLEX PLM software complex, as well as the implementation of T-FLEX Electrical and T-FLEX CNC programs for a wider coverage of design and automation processes.

The transition to T-FLEX CAD was one of the key factors in improving the quality and efficiency of equipment design in the INNOVATION laboratory, which ultimately affected the productivity and competitiveness of the enterprise in the market.
