JSB Russlavbank replaced the server hardware

The IBS Platformix system integrator completed migration of data center of JSB RUSSLAVBANK, the press service of integrator reported on February 11, 2013.

Task

"For the purpose of minimization of time of idle times and expense optimization on service of DPC the management of bank made the decision on commissioning of the data center located in other district of Moscow, - Alexey Bunto, the chief expert in development of computing systems of JSB RUSSLAVBANK emphasized. – All complexity of the project consisted in the solution of a question of the organization – some services of bank do not allow any idle times. Therefore we asked for the help the experienced company".

Solution

Within the project set the task of transfer of virtual machines of VMware and the logical disks located on a storage system of EMC VNX for IBS Platformix. Data migration was performed by means of the hardware and software system EMC RecoverPoint and the software of EMC Replication Manager.

Use of these tools allowed to move more than 20 Tb of the data ensuring functioning of tens of virtual machines, clusters and services. Thanks to the procedure of prevention of duplication and data compression, replication of data is performed close to synchronous. Delays at replication of data made from 1 to 3 sec., and compression allowed to reduce the volume of transmitted data by 4-7 times. The used solutions allowed to provide a smaller downtime of services of requirements (30 minutes) which are rather imposed by bank.

About 120 virtual machines executed on three physical servers are transferred to new DPC. Migration was carried out taking into account strict requirements on ensuring continuity of business processes of bank.

The project of data migration was separated into several stages:

• consultation and collecting of primary information,
• work planning,
• carrying out audit and preparatory work,
• dismantling-delivery-installation,
• updating of firmwares and installation of the application on replication of data,
• carrying out replication,
• transfer of virtual machines and logical disks.

"Data for financial company is the most important resource. Therefore quality control of transfer of these data was at the maximum level. We used all necessary tools and methods for ensuring the reliable, complete and protected migration. At the same time it was succeeded to complete migration a week from planirovanny, even earlier taking into account that all works were carried out generally to the weekend and after hours", - Evgeny Kim, the director of the department of the complete solutions IBS Platformix noted.

Project Development

On November 24, 2014 it became known of upgrade of IT infrastructure of JSB Russlavbank. Works in the project were performed by IBS Platformix company

Within the project, for fall forward of access and data processing, cutting of costs for service, the Dell PowerEdge server hardware is supplied and installed. Installation provides necessary computing powers for service of a complex of information systems, the basis for further development of IT in ^[1] is created.
