The ministry of the railroads of India started implementation of the Russian monitoring systems

On November 22, 2016 the press service of Russian Space Systems company announced the beginning of the project of adaptation for India of the Russian monitoring systems and security of rail transportation on the basis of the GLONASS navigation technologies by request of the ministry of the railroads of India.

At this stage together with the Indian partners it is necessary to develop the general concept of future system. We define the tasks facing a system, we coordinate the purposes of its application to the precepts of law operating in India.

Railroads of India, (2014)


In RKS the geographically distributed monitoring system of crucial objects is developed. It consists of three levels:

  • the sensors installed in tunnels, depot at stations, bridges and other infrastructure facilities, collect and transfer information to local dispatcher stations.
  • points are connected with the centers of monitoring of zone railway managements from which information is flown down in the situational center of the railroads.
  • in the Russian option the National Crisis Management Center of Emercom of Russia is the top level.

The monitoring system of the railroads assumes installation of measuring modules of a satellite system of navigation on railway bridges, wide-span and high-rise constructions for control of shift and fluctuation of constructions, constructions. RKS developed for this purpose the separate system of the high-precision monitoring of shift of engineering constructions (HPMSEC).

The problem of increase in security of valuable and dangerous loads is solved due to installation on the rolling stock of the special navigation equipment accepting signals of navigation satellite systems.
