2024: InStock WMS Implementation

InStock Technologies announced the transfer of Mosaic-Synthesis to the InStock WMS system. InStock Technologies announced this on June 3, 2024.

Mosaika-Sintez is a Russian publishing house specializing in preschool education and education. Provides its book products on the Russian market. The company has its own warehouse with an area of about 7,000 square meters, which stores more than 100,000 items of goods from its own publishing house and other suppliers. The efficient accounting and handling of this volume of goods in a warehouse requires the use of a modern technological warehouse management system. Previously, the 1C - Axelot system was installed in the warehouse.

According to information InStock Technologies, the publishing house was WMS outdated technologically and could not cope with the increasing tasks of the warehouse due to a lack of functionality. After evaluating the cost of updating, transferring old improvements and creating new functions, as well as the cost of implementing the new InStock WMS system with a microservice architecture, Mosaic-Synthesis chose the system from InStock Technologies. The system on InStock WMS the microservice architecture has maximum stability and maintains speed at any increased loads, which is very important in seasonal periods. In addition, InStock WMS version 7 has increased reliability, since data duplicates are always created and all system modules are distributed among different modules. to servers

The main task for InStock WMS was to improve the manageability, efficiency and profitability of the business, which is achieved by:

  • refusal of the warehouse management system existing at the Customer, which is obsolete and not supported by the vendor.
  • increase the speed of operations
    • high-speed (compared to the Customer's existing automated warehouse management system) search for items;
    • optimization of the processes of placement, selection and replenishment (application of special methods of acceptance with sorting, options for selection, preparation of goods by replenishment and compression operations, automated control of issuance and priority of tasks);

  • regulation of order processing processes and management of deviations from regulations - avoiding manual control of warehouse processes and manual control of intersystem integration.

Before the implementation of InStock WMS, InStock Technologies specialists carried out a lot of work on the business analysis of warehouse processes, proposed optimization solutions. All goods are divided into groups and each group in the warehouse has its own zone. In addition, there are areas for processing goods and an online store zone . This area receives goods from retail returns and external recipients. This clear separation of the warehouse contributes to the accuracy of accounting and the speed of processing.

When processing goods, weight and size characteristics are taken into account, there are goods with expiration dates and these data are also taken into account when selecting orders. The company Mosaic-Synthesis ships products from its warehouse to retail stores, wholesale customers, chain stores and works with marketplaces. Each counterparty has its own requirements for shipped orders and InStock WMS when picking orders takes into account all the nuances. The InStock WMS system for different products plans selection according to different principles: FEFO, FIFO, LIFO. Several selection methods are used in the project. The system selects the method based on the characteristics of the articles, the rules that were created during the study of the SOW.

Much attention is paid in the draft control of selected orders before shipment. When repacking on control, it is possible to reduce the number of cargo carriers by order. WMS checks which group the consignee belongs to and determines how to pack the goods for that customer, which labels should be printed on the goods. The system controls the printing of labels according to the templates corresponding to the consignees. A special control mode is used for goods on Marketplaces. For FBS marketplaces, WMS generates an API request for the corresponding marketplace, receives either a PDF label or data for the label template, and prints the order label to the final conduit.

In some cases, it is possible to select goods for order from acceptance and, bypassing the placement process, move goods to the shipping area. Crossdocking saves the resources of people and equipment, time for placement processes.

The processes of creating kits in the warehouse and their further processing have been established and automated.

The implementation of InStock WMS to replace the previous wms 1c has completed all scheduled tasks.

The problem of uniform load distribution to all areas of warehouses was solved due to storage optimization, the work of warehouse workers was optimized and work control was carried out. New options have been added for uploading reports and further analysis of warehouse operation. Increased the speed of warehouse operations for picking, picking orders. Human error is minimized. Regular inventory has been set up and accurate accounting of all goods has been established. Shipping errors have been minimized due to the development of control operations for different groups of goods, for different consignees. Automated work with marketplaces.
