2025: Digitization of Print Publications
The capital company completed a project to digitize printed publications of the Archive and Library Fund of the Museum of Transport of Moscow and transformed more than 66 thousand books, periodicals and industrial graphics into electronic form. This was announced on April 25, 2025 by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city is actively introducing advanced technologies in various industries: transport, construction, industry and others. Enterprises of the capital use digital tools, modernize production, and also develop promising projects and services. For example, the metropolitan developer of planetary scanners and software platforms for organizing electronic archives, digitized more than 66 thousand units of materials of the Archive and Library Fund of the Museum of Transport of Moscow. The company has created digital copies of books, industrial graphics and periodicals that reflect the history of the formation of transport in Russia and abroad, - said Maxim Liksutov. |
Among the digitized publications in Russian and foreign languages are books on the history of the subways of the USSR, Europe, as well as the United States. In addition, unique periodicals on the history of the bus and tram traffic of the 1930s were digitized, which are important sources of information about the formation of transport systems.
Digitization of the museum's print media is an important step to preserve the scientific and technical heritage of Moscow and makes historical information on the development of transport accessible to researchers and a wide audience. Contactless careful scanning was carried out on professional devices of the capital's production, which ensured the complete preservation of materials and high quality of digitization, "said Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy. |
Digitized publications will be available remotely and in the reading room of the Archive and Library Center of the Museum of Transport of Moscow.
The library collection of the Museum of Transport of Moscow will include thousands of publications released over the past 167 years. These are scientific, technical, reference, popular science and other publications in more than 20 languages of the world, which will become a guide to the comprehensive study of transport. Thanks to the digitization in the reading room of the Museum's archive and library center, everyone will be able to familiarize themselves with scientific and technical documentation, books and periodicals about transport, many of which will become available to a wide range of readers for the first time, "added Oksana Bondarenko, director of the Moscow Museum of Transport. |
The digitization process included scanning, symbol processing, assembly into single pdf files, and text recognition. All symbols were recorded on a USB flash drive, which provides convenient access to digitized materials.
Digitization is a complex technological process that requires high qualifications and modern equipment. The company has 350 professional scanners, including planetary and in-line models, which allows you to quickly and efficiently process any array of documents. Our technologies include more than 12 unique algorithms, including those using artificial intelligence, and each stage passes quality control verification. Specialists have deep knowledge in working with various documentation, which allows you to take into account all the nuances of projects, "said ElarArtyom Vartanyan, Director of the Marketing Department of the corporation. |
