On October 9, 2014 the France Informatique & Technologie company announced a new stage of development of an implementation project of cash self-service in Magnoliya network on a new technology platform of NCR FastLane SelfServ Checkout.

Project Results

In shop of Magnoliya network to the address Zhivopisnaya Street, 6, building 1 five cash desks of self-service (self-checkouts, SCO) together with three traditional points of sale are installed in the cash register line.

The implementation project of technology of cash self-service in Magnoliya network received the continuation on a new technology platform — NCR FastLane SelfServ Checkout.

Elena Kudrina, the chief executive of FIT company, told: "NCR corporation — our priority partner in the field of cash solutions. The offered NCR systems of cash self-service and also opportunity for adaptation of their interface to need of the Russian retailers which the FIT company has as the owner of the highest partner status NCR Premier Partner authorized within the program for implementation of SCO NCR in the Russian market matched expectations of our client — Magnoliya networks. The integration solution created by our company during this project integrated functionality of the cash system developed in FIT company with the software of SCO NCR. NCR provided us the tool for customization of the software. Now we can create independently and quickly enough practically any interface providing the dialog of the buyer with a cash system relying on specifics of business processes of the specific retailer, including, non-grocery (DIY, drogerie, etc.). For example, we can provide support of the most various loyalty systems, consider the Russian specifics (in particular, MRP on cigarettes, etc.). Owing to this circumstance of the price of customization at accomplishment by our company of such projects is usually much lower, than vendors have SCO, and it is required to us time for accomplishment of these works less".

2015: Project Development

November 30, 2015. The France Informatique & Technologie (FIT) company announced automation of supermarket of Magnoliya network in which the system of cash self-service self-checkout is installed.

Project Features

Feature of this project — application of the mobile station of the attendant (attendant station) on the platform of the tablet computer.

At the same time the complete functionality of a fixed station of the attendant [For reference is saved: an attendant (attendant — the consultant)], allowing to make far off various transactions on a self-chekauta, such, for example, as confirmation of age of the buyer upon purchase of alcohol or cigarettes. At the tablet station of the attendant not only the emergency situations requiring immediate intervention of the attendant but also, for example, what number of notes and coins is in a self-chekauta at present are displayed. Levels of filling of cartridges to which cash payment comes, and from which delivery forms are visible. On them the attendant is guided for timely replenishment of the become empty cartridges or money withdrawal from filled (see a photo below). Level of fullness is painted by the principle of the traffic light: the absence, green — acceptable level is signaled red, yellow — "Pay attention".

Evolution of attendant station

Optimization of working time and reduction of staff is an evolutionary step of use of self-checkout and increases efficiency of use of technology of cash self-service in Magnoliya network.

At early stages of development of the systems of cash self-service self-checkout there was "gold standard" of the organization of work of consultants (attendant): selection of a special zone for a stationary workplace of the consultant with the personal computer and the tactile screen. In process of development of program systems and studying of behavior of attendant there was a hypothesis that it is better for attendant to be near the buyer, but not to sit in front of the desktop computer at a distance. It allows it not "sleep" and quicker to come to the rescue to buyers, react to unusual situations, direct consumer flows to free cash desks of self-service, etc. Such principle of the organization of work of attendant allowed to save space of a trading floor and, in general, began to cost cheaper to retailers. There is no need to mount the certain station with the corresponding equipment.

As the systems of cash self-service began to be applied more and more not only in large-format shops, but also stepped in network of small shops, functions of the attendant gradually began to pass to cashiers who from time to time, in addition to the basic functions of service of buyers behind normal cash desk, also perform functions of attendant. It plays a crucial role in reduction of term of return of investments in implementation projects of SCO in shops of small formats.

For this purpose the cash jobs which are directly adjoining a SCO installation zone equip with the station of the attendant as which it is very convenient to use, for example, the mobile tablet as it was made in Magnoliya. Such optimization of working time and reduction of staff which is necessary for service of these cash transactions is an evolutionary step of use of self-checkout and increases efficiency of use of technologies of cash self-service in Magnoliya network.
