In May, 2017 the largest Russian enterprise for development of rocket engines of NPO Energomash entering into Roskosmos state corporation bought licenses softwares of Siemens and keeps the project of creation of a PLM system on its base. Fully it is going to finish the project in 2018.

Why it was selected by software of Siemens

In April, 2018 the Deputy CEO for development of IT NPO Energomash Denis Savenkov told why for creation of a PLM system of the enterprise products of Siemens company were selected. In the created system the complete circuit of solutions of Siemens – for 3D - modeling, creation of technical processes, engineering calculations, etc. is used.

The Russian "software reality" does not allow to importozamestitsya in this area yet, Savenkov noted. According to him, as base for PLM in NPO Energomash were considered, including, solutions of the Russian developer CAD Ascon. However it did not approach.

Earlier, in September, 2017, the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin supervising including, the space industry, suggested to consider a question of introduction of the ban on deliveries to state institutions of foreign software from producers which do not open the source code[1].

Otherwise it turns out that we wear out a bomb to the house — the Kommersant newspaper quoted Rogozin. — Plus cannot be forgotten about a possibility of industrial espionage.

NPO Energomash in the form is not a state institution, but risks of industrial espionage and also the risks connected with possible effects from sanctions of the West against Russia probably are relevant also for that sphere in which it works. In Siemens PLM Software could not comment timely whether the company source codes to Russian authorities revealed them.

The project on creation of PLM goes to NPO Energomash in parallel with implementation of the ERP system at this enterprise. As one of potential suppliers of a product for it SAP was considered. However in the area of a security service of state corporation with which the project was approved at that time "prohibition on communication" with SAP was delivered, Dmitry Savenkov told. It was just connected with risks because of sanctions, information leaks and so forth. As a result for ERP the choice was performed from domestic solutions.

Purchase of software, strategic partnership with Lanit

In May, 2017 NPO Energomash signed the contract with Lanity capacity about 86 million rubles for delivery of licenses softwares of Siemens and services in their service for a period of one year[2]. Licenses of products for design and technology preparation of production of Siemens TeamCenter NX , etc. were a part of delivery.

In July, 2017 announced Lanit strategic partnership with NPO Energomash in the field of PLM technologies. The enterprise performs transition to technologies of product lifecycle management with methodological support of integrator.

From paper – to "digit": problems of PLM in NPO Energomash

Creation of a PLM system is a part of the big plan of NPO Energomash for digitalization of design, tests and production at the enterprises. Transition to digital design sets as the purposes improving competitiveness of the developed products due to decrease in terms of their creation and their cost value, representatives of NPO Energomash[3] told in 2017[4].

Implementation of digital design (PLM system) at the enterprises of the integrated structure – one of the key directions of our further development. Thanks to digital design the competitiveness of the developed products, their reliability and quality increases. A PLM system allows to reduce terms of creation of products and their cost value and also to reduce the number of natural tests of products, - the CEO of NPO Energomash Igor Arbuzov noted.

Besides, within digital design transition to electronic design and technology documentation should be performed, Arbuzov told. Also competences are also transferred to a new information system saved up knowledge.

For increase in the quality system, decrease in time for production and costs of products at a design stage the PLM system is implemented. This three-dimensional design, a 3D model is the original of design documentation, the complete mathematical description of all processes in the liquid rocket engine is carried out. It allows to avoid errors at design, already at a start stage in production the engine configuration is defined, - the chief designer of NPO Energomash Pyotr Levochkin said.[5]
