In FTS the large-scale VDI project started

In April, 2013.The Federal Tax Service (FTS) signed the contract about Croc for creation of a pilot zone of infrastructure of virtual work places (Virtual desktop infrastructure, VDI) an automated system "Tax-3".

The project will cover 5 thousand users, and is going to complete it until the end of May, 2013. As the place of delivery of FTS specifies the management across the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

Within the project Croc will deliver to tax specialists hardware and the software. The total amount of the contract with integrator is 153.6 million rubles from which directly about 16 million rubles are the share virtualization of workstations of software.

Tax specialists want to virtualize jobs based on the product Parallels VDI Solution including the Parallels Virtual Automation platform and functionality of the broker of connections. It represents the replicated VDI solution based on technology of container virtualization which the Parallels company developed together with IBS and which is going to be advanced in a public sector and the corporate sector.

In the tender documentation it is specified that the equivalent for this solution is not provided "due to the need of ensuring interaction of products with products used by the customer".

The chairman of the board of IBSSergey Matsotsky explained TAdviser that Croc will buy this solution from their company under the project in FTS, IBS did not participate in the tender.

He also noted that this tender – a part of the large-scale project on virtualization of jobs and in other departments of FTS. If pilot practice of use of VDI is successful, this technology can be spread around on all jobs of FTS which total number is about 120 thousand.
