RFP Group upgrades IT infrastructure of holding implementation of the ITSM solution

Softline upgraded IT infrastructure of timber industry holding RFP Group on the platform of the solutions System Center, the company reported on November 23, 2012.

Objectives

Creation of holding and consolidation within this process of a number of large enterprises was followed by intensive development of IT infrastructure of the company. Annually the number of items of equipment and volume of the used software products increased. The corporate network RFP Group integrated more than 500 workstations, 80 physical and more than 300 virtual servers.

In these conditions before the IT management of holding there were problems of increase in effective management of IT infrastructure. It was necessary to reduce terms of elimination of emergency situations, to optimize housekeeping overheads and development of infrastructure and also to provide timely receiving up-to-date information about its current status. Also issues of increase in level of information security and ensuring operational work of all information and the RFP Group analytical systems required the solution.

Solution

The IT service provider selects Softline company. For solving of tasks on condition monitoring of the distributed applications specialists of Softline suggested to implement the management system on the basis of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2012 intended for comprehensive management of services.

"Within the project the Softline company implemented the solution allowing to control work of the objects of network infrastructure which are not only in head office of the company but also on remote platforms. A system allows to carry out from the single console condition monitoring of different elements in the large distributed information systems", – Sergey Shopin, the engineer of the center of solutions of representative office of Softline in Khabarovsk noted.
Anton Vashchenko, the head of department of system administration of RFP Group, told: "Thanks to a monitoring system we can watch in real time over health of all information system that, in turn, allows us to reveal and prevent problems at the earliest stages, without interrupting service of users of all enterprises of holding. The possibility of pro-active monitoring and rapid response to the arising problems is especially relevant for our holding having the developed and geographically distributed IT infrastructure. Now failures of the network, server hardware and applications are eliminated still before the administrator or users learn about them. The possibility of viewing reports for any period allows us not only to analyze data and the repeating incidents, revealing, thus, weak spots of infrastructure but also and to flexibly plan the next stages of upgrade of IT infrastructure".
