VTB Leasing and Rostelecom signed a deal for the supply of 48 hardware and software systems with a total value of about 5.7 billion rubles. The equipment is provided for financial leasing for a period of five years. This was announced on October 24, 2022.

According to the press service of VTB Leasing, a pool of leasing transactions was concluded for the supply of network and server equipment, data storage systems, as well as a wide list of telecommunications and IT equipment. Most of the supplies were carried out to ensure the provision of services under state contracts within the framework of digitalization projects of the Russian economy.

According to VTB Leasing, in the first half of 2022, the company retained the first place in terms of portfolio in the segment of telecommunications equipment, office equipment and computers in the Expert RA rating (payments receivable - 15 billion rubles). For 6 months of 2022, the company delivered property to customers in the amount of 102 million rubles with VAT.

2021: Agreements for the supply of telecom equipment for leasing for 5.5 billion rubles

VTB Leasing Group and Rostelecom on July 23, 2021 announced the conclusion of 19 leasing agreements for the supply of telecommunications equipment. The total cost of the purchased equipment amounted to about 5.5 billion rubles with VAT. The equipment is supplied to financial leasing for a period of five years.

Leasing has been cooperating with Rostelecom and its subsidiaries VTB since June 2019. Since that time, the company has transferred equipment to the group in the amount of 12.5 billion rubles. including VAT. A pool of leasing deals was concluded for the supply of network and server equipment, data storage systems, as well as a wide list of telecommunications and IT equipment. Most of the supplies were carried out to ensure the provision of services under state contracts within the framework of digitalization projects of the Russian economy.

2020: IT equipment leased for 2.7 billion rubles

On May 20, 2020, it became known that Rostelecom leases network and server equipment for 2.7 billion rubles under an agreement with VTB Leasing.

First, Rostelecom will be supplied with IT equipment worth 1.4 billion rubles, and then - for another 1.3 billion rubles. The pool of lease deals was concluded in April 2020.

In accordance with the contracts, VTB Leasing will finance the comprehensive purchase of data storage systems, as well as a wide list of telecommunications and IT equipment. Most of the equipment is transferred to ensure the provision of services under state contracts within the framework of digitalization projects of the Russian economy. The lease term is five years, all transactions are concluded with a zero advance payment.

It is noted that VTB Leasing has been cooperating with Rostelecom and its subsidiaries since June 2019. From that time to May 20, 2020, the company transferred equipment to the telecommunications group in the amount of 4.8 billion rubles for a period of five years.

According to Sergey  Anokhin, Senior Vice President and CFO of Rostelecom, the use of leasing instruments and cooperation with VTB Leasing allow the operator to find balanced solutions when implementing investment projects in the field of digitalization of large corporate and state clients.

This is important, since the demand for Rostelecom's solutions and services from our customers only increased during the pandemic, and the company needs to quickly take measures to develop networks and infrastructure, he said.

According to Expert RA, in 2019 VTB Leasing occupied 26% of the Russian leasing services market in the segment of telecommunications equipment, office equipment and computers.^[2]
