2020: Implementation of DPC engineering systems dispatch and management system

At the end of December 2020, RTSoft"" completed the project on the implementation of the automated system of dispatching and management of engineering systems (ASDU IS) of the Data Processing Center (PJSC DPC Skolkovo). "" Sberbank The project was carried out as part of a consortium of companies managed by the general contractor - the company "" (Insystems GK ""), Lanit RTSoft reported on April 20, 2021.

As noted, the data center located in the Skolkovo Innovation Center is one of the largest and most powerful data centers in Europe. Its area is 39,000 m2, active capacity is up to 32 MW, the number of server racks is up to 2000 and the total level of fault tolerance (according to the Uptime Institute) is Tier III.

As an object of the implementation of ASDU engineering systems, the Skolkovo data center is a complex of buildings: an administrative building with adjacent five engineering and technological modules of the data center, which operate in round-the-clock and year-round modes.

The purpose of the project is to improve the reliability, safety and quality of the equipment of engineering systems, as well as reduce the cost of its maintenance.

The introduction of ASDU IS of Skolkovo Data Center made it possible to solve problems in the following areas:

  • monitoring of process parameters and operation control of engineering systems equipment;
  • diagnostics of equipment functioning;
  • notification of personnel about pre-emergency and emergency conditions of equipment operation;
  • generation of equipment operating time indicators;
  • providing "deep" archiving of technological data and other tasks.

ASDU IS ensured the integration of local automation systems and monitoring the functioning of a complete set of technological subsystems: general ventilation, air conditioning, water supply, heating, cold supply, power supply, DIBP, lighting, power quality control, temperature and humidity monitoring in machine rooms and many others.

A special pride of system developers, RTSoft specialists, is the solution of the most difficult technical problems in organizing "deep" data storage. At the same time, the total volume of controlled parameters for April 2021 reaches 200 thousand, the company said. In addition, it was necessary to propose a solution in which the total information volume of the system could be expanded taking into account the development prospects of the Skolkovo data center. And this task has also been solved. It is worth noting that the introduction of ASDU IS went in difficult conditions, in parallel with construction work.

Skolkovo Data Center Sberbank PJSC will develop and expand. The acquired engineering experience and the existing design team will allow RTSoft to take up new work in this project and offer solutions to similar problems to other customers, the company believes.

Transfer of Uptime Institute Tier III security certificates

Sberbank was given Uptime InstituteTier III certificates, which indicate compliance with international security standards of previously commissioned Skolkovo data center modules. The documents were presented to the senior vice president, head of the Technology block of the bank, David Rafalovsky, managing director of the Uptime Institute for Russia and the CIS, Alexei Solodovnikov, told TAdviser on October 11, 2018 in Sberbank.

As of October 2018, the Skolkovo Sberbank data center with a capacity of 30 MW and a capacity of up to 5 exabytes of information consists of five modules. It is assumed that after the commissioning of all modules, the data center will become the largest in Russia and one of the largest in Europe.

The level of reliability of the data center in the international evaluation system (Uptime Institute) is Tier III, which implies an availability rate of at least 99.98% and the operation of IT systems in 24 x 7 mode.

Tests confirmed that process modules No. 1 and 2 of the data center comply with the Uptime Institute Tier Standard: Topology standard. Certification of modules No. 3, 4 and 5 is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2018.

The construction estimate of the Sberbank data center in Skolkovo exceeded 17 billion

As it became known to CNews, for two years the cost of building a Sberbank data center on the territory of the Skolkovo innovation center increased by at least 5.2 billion rubles. and currently amounts to at least 17.4 billion rubles[1].

Recall that the basic engineering contract for the construction of the object under consideration for 12.2 billion rubles. was concluded on April 16, 2016 with a subsidiary of Lanita, the company Insistems.

In early May 2018, CNew discovered that the basic contract on the public procurement website had another additional agreement between Sberbank and Insistems - for 129.3 million rubles, and, characteristically, it was assigned No. 4, while information from additional agreements No. 2 and No. 3 on the official portal was zakupki.gov.ru absent.

The editors appealed to the press service of Sberbank with a logical question about the opportunity to find out details about additional agreements No. 2 and No. 3 not submitted on the site and with a request to inform whether there are agreements with serial numbers from 5 and above within the framework of the draft.

In response, the press service of the bank reported that during the construction period 2016-2018. six additional agreements were concluded to the basic agreement. "Agreements No. 2, 3, 5 are of a technical nature and do not entail changes in the material terms of the contract," the organization is assured. - Agreements No. 1 (2.86 billion rubles), No. 4 (129.3 million rubles) and No. 6 (2.23 billion rubles) are associated with the construction of an additional 5th technological module, previously not included in the subject of the contract, with enhanced technical supervision of the project, with changes in design and technological solutions, the need of which was identified during the construction process, with a change in design solutions in the optical subsystem of the intelligent structured cable network to ensure the transition to new generations of computing systems, and other technological and modernization changes. "

Note that the day after the appeal of CNews - May 4, 2018 - information on additional agreement No. 6 for 2.23 billion rubles. was added to the public procurement website.

Completing Intelligent Cabling

On May 7, 2018, the company Insystems"" (group) LANIT announced the completion of the installation and commissioning of the Skolkovo cable network (), Data Center DPC Sberbank the infrastructure of four of the five data center modules.

Over the past few months since the first module was commissioned in December 2017, the data center has been globally improved. An intelligent structured cable network has been installed and put into operation. This made it possible to bring data centers to a high level of reliability and ensure the transition to modern generations of computing systems that will operate at speeds of up to 400 Gb per second.

The task of the data center is to store, process and transfer large amounts of information. The operation of such a center requires modern systems for maintaining constant temperature and humidity, high-speed Internet access, as well as equipment for the uninterrupted supply of electricity. With the commissioning of the data center, the reliability of the bank's IT systems increases.

After the commissioning of all Skolkovo data center modules, it will be able to accommodate up to one exam of information and process it using 24 thousand servers. The capacity of the center will be up to 29.9 MW, and the level of reliability according to the international assessment system (Uptime Institute) - TIER-III, which assumes an indicator of system availability of at least 99.98%.

Power systems of Skolkovo data center use dynamic sources of uninterrupted power supply. Cold supply systems operate on the principle of direct cooling with sea air and operate without energy consumption for more than 330 days a year.

The data center underwent an examination of the Guide to Energy Efficient and Environmental Design (LEED) in the United States. He was awarded 51 points.

Mega-Data Center Start

On December 16, 2017, Sberbank launched the first stage of its new mega-data center located in Skolkovo. In particular, one of the five blocks from which the center will consist has been launched. Four main units have already been built, they are planned to be fully commissioned by the end of the year. The fifth block as of December is under construction.

Sberbank states that its data center is the largest in Russia and one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Its total area is about 33 thousand square meters, and its maximum capacity is about 30 megawatts. For comparison, the area of the previously largest data center of Sberbank "South Port" is 16,000 square meters. m, and capacity - 20 megawatts. The units of the new data center contain 20 machine rooms, which can accommodate up to 24 thousand servers.

As of December, the construction of four blocks of the Sberbank data center in Skolkovo was completed

Costs, deadlines and contractors

According to the president of Sberbank German Gref, who inaugurated the data center, about 14 billion rubles were spent on the construction of the center by the time the first stage was launched. These costs do not include the computing part and software, specified in Sberbank.

Among those present at the opening of the mega-data center are Sberbank President German Gref, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Minister of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov

The general contractor for the construction of the data center was Insistems, a member of the Lanit group. Sberbank Project Director Sergey Shurshalin told TAdviser that a total of about 150 contractors participated in the project. At the same time, Sberbank specifically chose small companies to save on services during the construction of the data center, he told TAdviser.

Sberbank signed a memorandum on the creation of a data center with Skolkovo back in 2011. At the same time the date of the beginning of construction of DPC was repeatedly postponed. A representative of Sberbank explained to TAdviser the delay, mainly by the fact that Skolkovo had problems supplying electricity with the necessary capacity. Starting the construction, not being sure that the necessary power would be provided, was too risky, the source told TAdviser.

Functions

Sberbank says that the main purpose of the new data center at the initial stage is to fulfill the function of a reserve platform. With its appearance, Sberbank plans to abandon leased reserve sites.

It is also planned to use data centers in Skolkovo to place new IT systems of the bank as part of infrastructure development. "Old," already operating systems, from the data center "South Port" is not planned to be transferred to the new one.

How the mega data center 2 works

Data Center Typical Block Model

At the lower level of the data center there are power plants, gas fire extinguishing stations and the organization of the logistics zone. The data center uses diesel dynamic uninterruptible power supplies (DIBP), the use of which at infrastructure facilities with a capacity of 1 MW is economically more profitable than the implementation of classical solutions using individual UPS systems and diesel generator plants (DGUs), say Sberbank.

DIBP with kinetic energy storage has made it possible to abandon lead batteries, which are often used in data centers. This, according to Sberbank, provided savings of up to 5.6 thousand. Air conditioned areas.

The machine rooms are located on the second level of the data center.

On the third level there are ventilation chambers with central ventilation units. Sberbank says they use the "most energy-efficient solution" with cooling of IT equipment with purified prepared ambient air for 287 days a year. To remove heat from the engine room, direct natural cooling technology is used, which is 73% more efficient than traditional technologies, Sberbank says.

The cooling system uses software with elements of artificial intelligence. It analyzes the weather forecast, weather station data, can provide cold accumulation if a sharp jump in temperature is expected, etc.

A situation center has also been deployed in the data center. Along with the situation center in the data center "South Port," it is used to monitor the state of all systems and basic operations of the bank. Sberbank says that the load between the two centers will be balanced.

Situational center

As in the South Port data center, biometric security systems are used to access the premises of the new data center in addition to cards. But if in the first it was introduced recognition of an employee with access rights by drawing veins on his hands, then in the mega-data center in "Skolkovo" the system of recognition of employees by face is used.

Sergey Shurshalin told TAdviser that Sberbank plans to use the fifth block of the new data center to develop the cybersecurity business as a new direction, providing services in this area to both internal and external customers. As in the South Port Data Center, in the new mega-data center, Sberbank is considering the possibility of deploying SOUND( security operations center), says Shurshalin.

Import substitution

Sberbank says that domestic solutions are widely used in the new mega-data center - they are present at the infrastructure level, and in the software computing part. The names of the products used in the data center Sberbank are reluctant to disclose, explaining this with concern for. cyber security Sergey Shurshalin gave an example that in the data center there are domestic (). Storage Systems SHD "Baum"

Part of the use of domestic decisions, including Sberbank's own development, is due to the desire to minimize the risks that Western sanctions against Russia carry, explained Sergey Shurshalin.

Completion of mega-data center construction at Skolkovo

The construction of Sberbank's mega-data center in Skolkovo has been completed, said Pavel Khodalev, senior managing director of the Technology block of Sberbank, speaking at the TAdviser SummIT conference on November 29, 2017. According to him, this data center is planned to be the main location of the Sberbank infrastructure.

Before its launch, the main platform for hosting Sberbank systems is the South Port mega-data center. The new data center is significantly superior in area and power. The total area of the new data center is about 30 thousand square meters. m, and the power supply is 32 MW, while the similar indicators of the "South Port" are 16 thousand square meters. m and 20 MW, respectively.

As of November, work is being completed on the engineering systems of the first stage of the facility, work has begun on the installation of IT equipment, the launch is planned for the 1st quarter of 2018, TAdviser at Sberbank said.

The latest IT equipment is installed in the Skolkovo data center. At the same time, the South Port data center is carrying out planned work on the technical update of IT equipment with a spent resource, TAdviser was told in Sberbank.

The concept of Sberbank provides for such an architecture of data centers, in which the third data center should appear in 2019-2020.

О TAdviser SummIT

The TAdviser SummIT conference was held in Moscow on November 29, 2017 and attracted more than 400 participants. The main topics of the event are the IT plans of the largest companies and government departments of Russia for 2018, the prospects for the development of the digital economy, IT products and services. More than 60 presentations and public discussions were made in the plenary and five thematic sections. The event was held in 5 halls of Digital October.

2016

Preparation for construction of MegaData Center-2

A member of the group "Lanit" "Insystems" selected by the general contractor to create a new DPC Sberbank one in, Skolkovo is conducting preparatory work to begin the construction of the facility, the CEO of this company told TAdviser Evgeny Virtser in April 2016 a few days after winning the tender: "The project documentation was compiled by the customer himself and did it qualitatively, you can already start work on it." Insistems plans to involve subcontractors in the performance of work, he added.

Under the terms of the contract, the general contractor must carry out work on the construction of a data center consisting of four modules. It is also required to perform work on laying off-site networks, supply and complex of commissioning of all engineering and technological equipment, its individual and comprehensive tests, as well as to carry out certification of the built facility. IT solutions for the data center are not included in this project.

The exact characteristics of the future data center at Insistems have not yet been disclosed, noting only that it will become the largest in Russia. Evgeny Wirzer noted in a conversation with TAdviser that the construction will be the largest for his company. He calls the main upcoming complexity of the project a very large amount of work that needs to be carried out in a short time - it is necessary to complete the creation of the facility within 24 months from the moment of signing the contract. Under the terms of the contract, work must be completed in May 2018.

Внутри первого мегаЦОДа Сбербанка "South Port"

Based on his previous experience with Sberbank, Wirzer added that the bank is a very demanding customer. Among the projects that Insistems previously carried out for Sberbank are the modernization of the bank's office buildings in Moscow, the supply of engineering systems for the Ural and North-West banks of Sberbank, for a customer support center, etc.

Speaking about how relevant the topic of import substitution is for the project to build a data center in Skolkovo, Yevgeny Virzer told TAdviser that domestic products will be used when creating a data center, "but without fanaticism." All the main equipment that is planned to be used in the project is imported, "from proven manufacturers."

The general director of Insistems chose not to voice specific brands of equipment that will be used in the data center. From the explanations of the design documentation for the participants of the request for proposals for the creation of a data center, it follows that, for example, when building structured cable systems, as in the first MegaData Center of Sberbank, it is planned to use Panduit products, for air conditioning systems - Unified and Daikin products, ventilation - Systemair and Robaterm. Another manufacturer of equipment involved in the project is Schneider Electric. Together with Lanit, Insistems and Stroy-Guarantor, the company is part of a consortium that won the Sberbank tender to create MegaData-2.

Select General Contractor for Construction

On April 13, 2016, Sberbank determined the winner of the request for proposals[1] at the choice of a general contractor to carry out construction and installation work to create a data center in Skolkovo (MegaData Center-2). It was the Insistems company, which is part of the Lanit group, which scored 0.548 points (the price and quality of the offer were estimated).

The maximum price of the contract was 13.1 billion rubles. Insistems expressed its readiness to build MegaData Center for 12.2 billion rubles. The contractor will receive 29.39% of this amount in advance.

Proposals for the tender were accepted from organizations accredited by the bank following the results of the qualification selection[2], held in October 2015.

In addition to Insistems, Mospromstroy-Opalubka took part in the request in a consortium with its sister company Mospromstroy (12.41 billion rubles and 0.5121 points) and RD Construction ( 11.59 billion rubles and 0.411 points). Another accredited participant - Alpine in a consortium with M + B High Tech Projects - did not reach the final stage of determining the winner.

The timing of the start of construction of the second Sberbank data center has repeatedly shifted. So, in the annual report of Skolkovo for 2011, expectations were expressed that the general complex of machine halls for the Sberbank data center would be built by January 2014. In early December 2013, German Gref, chairman of the bank's board, told the media that the construction of the data center would begin only in 2014.

From the reports on the activities of the Skolkovo Fund for 2013, it followed that the deadline for commissioning the first stage of the Sberbank data center, previously indicated by December 2015, shifted by a year - to December 2016.

2014: Preparation of Data Center Project

As of the beginning of 2014, the process of designing the second MegaData Center of Sberbank was underway, representatives of the bank said in January, answering a question from TAdviser during a press event.

According to them, the planned total electric power of the new data center will be 32 MVA against 20 MVA in the first MegaData Center of Sberbank Southern Port, launched in 2011. The area of the new MegaData Center will take about the same as the South Port - about 16 thousand square meters. m., but at the same time it will be possible to place more racks with equipment on it, added to Sberbank.

The exact location of the new site as of 2014 has not been determined. Earlier, the bank announced plans to build its second data center in Skolkovo, but now the latter is considered as "one of the places" for its location, while there are alternative options, Sberbank representatives reported to TAdviser.

Sberbank added that a specific decision on the start of construction of the second MegaData Center and permission for its construction has not yet been received.

"We wanted to start construction in 2016. The process of creating a data center is designed for about a year and a half, "said TAdviser at Sberbank.

2011: Signing a memorandum on the creation of a data center in Skolkovo

In July 2011, Sberbank signed a memorandum of intent with the Skolkovo Fund on the construction of a data center. It is assumed that the center for the development of IT infrastructure and the improvement of online services of the bank will be moved to Innograd. According to German Gref, Sberbank will allocate about 700-800 million dollars for the project.

German Gref told reporters about the signing of the document. The memorandum provides for the organization of the R & D center of the bank on the territory of the innovation and the construction of a MegaData Center 2. Skolkovo will provide Sberbank with preferential rental of space, preferential taxation and all benefits provided for participants in the innograd, the official representative of the fund reports.

The head of the Center for Innovation, Vadim Kulikov, is optimistic about the cooperation between Skolkovo and Sberbank: "The volume of investments of $700-800 million is quite adequate for this project. The big plus is that Sberbank will participate in it, thus, the competencies will definitely remain in Russia. Sberbank plays a key role in digital banking innovations. The partnership with Skolkovo will be a significant support for the bank's IT projects, in particular the issuance of a universal electronic card for Russians. "
