Sberbank has mega-purchased Microsoft software products

Four companies took part in the bank's tender - NVision Group, Softline Enterprise Solutions, Comparex and USP Complink. The initial cost of delivery was estimated at 4.4 billion rubles. During the open auction, the best price was offered by NVision Group - 3.98 billion rubles. The decline was almost 10%.

The winner of the purchase provided the bank with a commercial offer, which contains prices for certain software products fixed for the term of the contract. At the same time, the specific terms of the contract are not indicated in the protocol of the tender commission. It is only noted that it is valid from the date of signing until its full and proper execution.

According to the SOW, the bank should receive limited and unlimited rights to various Microsoft products, including client and server licenses for the Windows operating system, Exchange corporate mail, a solution for creating Project projects, Visio diagramming tools and diagrams . Licenses for Office applications (Standard and 365), DBMS QL Server, SharePoint products, Azure, and others must also be granted. Total - 85 different names of licenses. All solutions are purchased for the own needs of Sberbank and its subsidiaries.

As of October 2017, Sberbank's current purchase is the largest acquisition of Microsoft licenses among government agencies and companies with state participation for the entire observation period that TAdviser has been conducting over the past three years.

In March 2017, the Bank of Russia summed up the results of a large purchase of Microsoft licenses. The supplier of the Central Bank was "LANIT," the cost of delivery was about 3.35 billion rubles. In January of the same year, it became known about the acquisition by VTB 24 Bank of more than 146 thousand Microsoft licenses for 1.62 billion rubles. The only supplier was I-Teco.

In 2016, the purchase of over 220 thousand licenses of the American corporation for a period of 3 years was carried out by Rosseti. The cost of delivery then exceeded 2 billion rubles, and the winner was a collective participant in the Softline Trade (leader) and Lanit companies. For 1.777 billion rubles, Microsoft's solutions were purchased by Rosatom. The supplier was CROC, the delivery period was 3 years.

Microsoft Cloud Services Launch

2012

Plans to move all employee jobs to Windows 8

In November 2012, Senior Vice President, Chief information officer of Sberbank Victor Orlovsky announced the bank's plans to transfer all jobs of employees, which numbered over 150 thousand, to Microsoft Windows 8.

According to him, different operating systems were used at the workplaces of Sberbank specialists, starting with Windows 2000. Initially, it was planned to install Windows 7 at all workplaces. However, later there were plans to switch to Windows 8.

The chief information officer noted that Windows 8 has a number of advantages over the previous version of Microsoft OS: this is "interface convenience, cross-platform with tablets and mobile devices, the best virtualization technologies." In addition, the bank expected faster work on the same equipment.

Sberbank also reported that they would not have to pay separately for the new operating system: "Windows 8 is included in the master agreement with Microsoft."

Earlier, in June 2012, Sberbank extended a five-year corporate agreement with a software corporation for licensing various products. The parties did not disclose the volumes of the contract.
