2020: Optimization of educational process

On August 28, 2020 the Softline company announced that it helped SPBGASU to optimize educational process.

The project on migration of the tenant allowed the customer to expand use of licenses Microsoft Teams Microsoft Office 365 and to quickly transfer occupations to a remote format.

Public Educational Institution of Higher Professional Training SPBGASU used two tenant. These are personal accounts for licenses, subscriptions, domains, users. The main part of the licenses Microsoft VLSC (Volume Licensing Service Center) was purchased on one of them. There was a task to carry out migration of one tenant to another to concentrate all licenses Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 365 in one source that it is more convenient from the point of view of management of network parameters of the domain of the tenant and an opportunity to share licenses within one organization. The main complexity was that under the terms of Microsoft the different tenant is serviced as independent organizations. It did not give to university the chance to synchronize their use and management.

For the solution of a task a direct path – using revocation of licenses and their re-registration through a support service, – Microsoft would be required about half a year. Specialists of Softline carried out works in two days to the moment when validity period of licenses on the tenant of a source came to an end that allowed to make quickly their prolongation already in the appointed tenant.

Also verification of domains on DNS records, synchronization with Azure AD Connect, testing through service ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services) and transfer of a subscription of Azure Enterprise Agreement was carried out. According to the results of migration the customer received structure of the uniform tenant from one root domain and two child.

We communicated with technical support of Microsoft much, involved our licensing specialists, colleagues from SPBGASU also actively participated in migration. We are obliged by success of this project to competently built communication between all participants – the customer, the contractor and vendor", – Alexander Stepanov, the manager on sale of solutions of Softline told.
