The Public courier service implemented GLONASS

M2M Telematics Group became the technology partner of the project on monitoring system implementation based on GLONASS in State Courier Service of the Russian Federation.

Project objective – increase in efficiency of control and control of vehicles of the State Courier Service of the Russian Federation due to creation of the automated satellite navigation and monitoring system functioning on the basis of use of technologies of the GLONASS global navigation satellite system.

Within the project navigation kommunikatsionym the equipment of GLONASS equipped more than a third of State Courier Service of the Russian Federation vehicle fleet and also the uniform center of monitoring the State Courier Service of the Russian Federation in Moscow and the dispatching centers in the Russian cities is created.

As the main contractor under the public contract on creation of the automated satellite navigation and monitoring system of State Courier Service of the Russian Federation JSC Rossiyskiye kosmicheskiye sistemy which won tender for the right of its conclusion acted. Contract amount was 14.8 million rubles, the planned implementation terms - 2010. In 2011-2012 expansion of a system due to equipping of other vehicles of the State Courier Service of the Russian Federation is planned by the GLONASS equipment.

In the State Courier Service of the Russian Federation using GLONASS technologies are going to monitor movement of cars in real time, including operational data acquisition about observance of routes, a run, duration and places of idle times of transport and also the actual fuel consumption. Implementation of the navigation system will help to avoid irrational use of motor transport, and, above all – to provide control of delivery and safety of correspondence transported by courier service.
