UTair got access to flight and operational information on tablet computers

On April 17, 2017 the UTair airline and Jeppesen company announced signing of the service agreement about providing electronic collections of air navigation information for the EFB system (Electronic Flight Bag).

Project Tasks

By means of software implementation of Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro on the basis of iPad tablets, crews of UTair get access to flight and operational information which is generated on the basis of global base of air navigation data.

Use of FliteDeck Pro within the solution EFB will allow to reduce a set-up time of pilots to flight and also will provide all flight information on contact of a finger. Implementing technological solutions, we not only provide flight personnel with necessary electronic tools for increase in efficiency of their work, but also significantly we reduce workload of pilots.

The UTair airline is one of the leading airlines in the Russian market, and we are glad to provide it tools for further digital transformation. The exception of bulky paper materials due to use of Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro optimizes workflow in a cabin of crew and increases efficiency of actions of pilots, providing availability of all information necessary for flight accomplishment.

Project Results

In 2016 the UTair airline completed process of system implementation of electronic onboard documentation on the basis of iPad tablets. This upgrade allowed to pass to electronic air navigation collections and to reduce the weight of paper flight documentation on average by 10 kg. On tablets of crews the Boeing OPT and ATR SPS applications for calculation of runway characteristics and the automated Meridian.Alliance production system are implemented.
