Vologdaselyenergoproyekt increases quality of the project documentation new technologies

On December 10, 2013 it became known of increase in transparency of development of the project documentation in Vologdaselyenergoproyekt company which implemented software Pilot:PGS and LOTSMAN:ORD.

Project Tasks

About 70 people in Vologdaselyenergoproyekt LLC company actively use CAD systems, office applications, independently conduct network file sharing.

To avoid deterioration in a situation, it is decided to structure a file store and to systematize it according to the developed projects, at the same time completely to transfer document flow to an electronic form. Main requirements to IT tools:

• availability of the database, uniform for all users, for information storage and files on projects;
• flexible differentiation of access rights on editing and viewing files and documents;
• support of version control of files and documents;
• high reliability of system operation and information storage;
• idle time, intuitive interface of a system.

Project Progress

In December, 2011 ASCON provided the companies "Vologdaselyenergoproyekt" the test license for assessment of opportunities of a software package in actual practice. After testing and partial setup of systems PILOT:PGS and LOTSMAN:ORD the management Vologdaselyenergoproyekt the conclusion was drawn that the offered ASCON software products for 90% close assigned tasks, and the others can be solved due to reorganization of business processes and training of employees.

During 2012 and 2013 in Vologdaselyenergoproyekt LLC specialists of ASCON Yaroslavl implemented 64 licenses Pilot:PGS for the employees developing the design estimates.

For transfer of work with files and documents in new software environment, users step by step got acquainted with functionality of programs and in practice were convinced of advantages of these or those opportunities. Use of "A panel of files" for systematization of storage and file sharing on projects provided them access to ordered and up-to-date information. Function of printout of large-format drawings was postponed from designers for specialists of department of a design: now designers only publish documents in Pilot:PGS in the necessary format, issue a task to technicians and receive a ready paper copy.

Project Results

The company "Vologdaselyenergoproyekt" passed to management of design data and electronic document management with PILOT:PGS and LOTSMAN:ORD. Implementation of systems helped to provide daily condition monitoring of project business processes, to increase control of the task performance course, to organize quick and flexible access to all necessary project information. Works on implementation of software products and training of staff of the enterprise are executed jointly with specialists ASCON Yaroslavl.

With their help we managed to arrange project information, to ensure safety and completeness of data, convenient and quick search of project information (initial drawings, letters, applications and so forth), to increase transparency of development of documentation and to reduce influence of a human factor. At the same time accurate control of the issued tasks and work on letters of partners as all actions are fixed and displayed now became possible, the possibility of condition monitoring of elements of business processes appeared. Thus, two of these systems became one of the main tools for management of information flows when developing the design estimates in Vologdaselyenergoproyekt.
