Vyksa Steel Works (VSW, the Nizhny Novgorod Region, is included into OMK company) in January, 2018 announced automation of planning and management of repair work.

Project Tasks

Optimization of production for the account reduction of equipment downtimes became the purpose of system implementation. Besides, according to the results of the project the customer expects to receive triple acceleration of process of registration of results of works on maintenance and repair and also fivefold growth of frequency of identification of defects and faults of the equipment at an early stage. It is planned that economic effect of the project at a full load of production capacities of VSW in 2018 will be 65 million rubles.

Project Progress

Within the project the plant equipment was supplied with NFC tags on the basis of technology of identification by wireless data transmission.

Project Results

The system of mobile maintenance and repair of the equipment (mobile TORO) earned from the enterprise. The project is implemented by specialists of division of SAP Digital Business Services using mobile solutions of SAP for maintenance and repair: SAP Multiresource Scheduling and SAP Work Management.^[1]

At the disposal of the staff of repair divisions of the enterprise there are mobile devices using which they read out information on the equipment, control repair tasks, trace fault recovery time.

Mobile application allows to browse quickly technical documentation on the equipment, its current status and also to independently enter necessary information. Also in it already performed works, the attracted personnel and required materials are fixed.

We are in a phase of transition to the innovation model of production and are concentrated on those potentialities which open at competent use of the accumulated industrial experience and modern technological solutions. Through joint efforts with specialists of SAP we implemented the major project as decrease in time of equipment downtimes and increase in efficiency of repairs — a key task for any enterprise having big technology base — the CIO and to intelligent systems of protection of OMK Alexey Mitenkov commented on project results.
