Launch in Tomsk of the first production of Russian electrolyte for cars and aircraft
Tomsk In launched the first production of Russian organic electrolyte for supercapacitors used cars in and aircraft. This was Advanced Research Foundation announced in May 2025.
The plant was developed by specialists of the Engineering Chemical and Technological Center at Tomsk State University. The center is one of five participants in the project to create Russian supercapacitors on the basis of Elekond in Udmurtia.
Director of the Engineering Chemical and Technological Center Alexei Knyazev explained the appointment of supercapacitors. According to him, these are chemical current sources close to batteries that store energy and have the ability to give it away very quickly.
Supercapacitors are used for starter starters in automobiles, large machinery, aircraft and locomotives. Alexey Knyazev noted that after launch, the installation will enter the mode of the first electrolyte developments.
In one production cycle, the plant can synthesize 6.5 kilograms of products. This will meet the needs of Russian manufacturers of supercapacitors in high-quality raw materials of domestic production.
For the solemn launch of production at the site of the Tomsk center, project participants from various regions gathered. The event was attended by representatives from Tambov, Moscow, Udmurtia and Arkhangelsk.
Industrial partners from different cities of Russia, interested in the production of supercapacitors, also arrived at the launch of production. This indicates a high interest in the new technology from industrial consumers.
The Advanced Research Fund emphasized the importance of new production for the development of domestic industry. The production of Russian electrolyte to create supercapacitors expands Russia's capabilities in traditional and alternative power.
The new technology will find application in electronic devices and transport power. The production is of particular importance for the creation of powerful battery systems for various purposes.[1]
Opening of TSU Compound Research Center
In May 2025, the Tomsk State University (TSU) opened the Compound Research Center, which will develop and synthesize super-structural polymer materials, including those used to make skull implants and intervertebral discs. The creation and equipment of the center was spent ₽80 million allocated by the university and industrial partners - IHTZ and Sibagro. Read more here
Launch of NICA Super Collider Equipment Development School
In mid-May 2025, the school "Statistics for Physicists" was launched at Tomsk State University (TSU), designed to train specialists developing equipment for the Russian super collider NICA. The project is implemented at the expense of a megagrant allocated by the Russian government and is aimed at training scientists in various methods of mathematical statistics to assess the correctness of physical models when analyzing data.
According to the press service of Tomsk State University, the school's program includes lectures and master classes in several key areas: "Features of the construction and testing of statistical hypotheses," "Organization and launch of calculations on a computing cluster under the control of HTCondor," "Consideration of statistical models applicable to LHC data analysis" and other thematic blocks.
School teacher, employee of the laboratory for analyzing high-energy physics data at TSU Maxim Penzin stressed that statistics methods are necessary not only for analyzing experimental data, but also for creating measuring equipment with which this data will be obtained. As part of a project supported by a megagrant, researchers model detectors and electronics for a super collider, and solving such problems is impossible without a deep understanding of mathematical statistics algorithms.
These tools are especially important for scientists who will directly participate in experiments at the NICA collider. Megacyenne level settings produce huge amounts of data that inevitably contain distortions due to the influence of many factors. This creates the need for careful analysis and processing of information, for which mathematical statistics methods are used.[2]

Launch of the free educational program "Data analysis in Low-code platforms"
IT-school Rostelecom"" on August 14, 2024 announced the start of the free educational online program "Analysis data Low-code in Platforms." The program is implemented in the framework of cooperation with Tomsk State University (TSU) with the support of the federal project "Employment Promotion."
The training takes place in a remote format and is designed for 144 hours. The course teachers are experienced Rostelecom specialists and IT engineers with many years of pedagogical experience.
Training for all citizens is free, the cost is covered by state funding. According to the results of the program, graduates receive a certificate of advanced training of the state model of TSU.
The program is designed for citizens with higher or secondary special education who want to master the field of data and analytics. Training is available for both the employed and the unemployed. To participate, you need to register on the portal "Work in Russia" through Public services and go through a questionnaire at the nearest "Employment Center."
"In an age of digital transformation, data is becoming a key resource. economies Our program is designed to form a new generation of specialists who have the skills to work with the data necessary for the implementation of the national project. " Data economics By the end of 2024, we plan to train about a thousand new specialists who will contribute to digital transformation and stimulate economic growth, "said countries Vladimir Tatarintsev, director of strategic project development at Rostelecom. |
"With the help of the Rosnavyk service, we analyzed the market and found out that more than 13 thousand vacancies for analysts are now open in the country. Specialists without work experience can count on salaries from 50 thousand rubles, more experienced analysts can earn up to 400 thousand rubles a month. The "Employment Promotion" project is focused on the participation of large employers interested in selecting personnel or retraining employees in current educational programs. Any organizations that are in need of qualified personnel can join the project, "said Mikhail Shepel, Vice-Rector of TSU for Additional Education. |
The launch dates of the nearest streams are September 2, September 16 and September 30.
Agreement with Rostelecom on the training of highly qualified IT personnel
On June 6, 2024, Rostelecom and Tomsk State University (TSU) announced the start of cooperation in the field of training highly qualified IT personnel and the development of specialized programs for additional and additional professional education (DOP and DPO). Signatories were David Martirosov, Vice President for IT Operation and Infrastructure of PJSC Rostelecom, and Eduard Galazhinsky, Rector of Tomsk State University.
One of the key areas of cooperation will be joint work to improve the qualifications and professional training of engineering personnel from among the existing students of the university, as well as other persons interested in employment. As of June 2024, about 15 thousand students study at TSU in 130 areas and specialties, including engineering and technical.
As part of the partnership, the Department for the Development of Strategic Projects of Rostelecom, with the support of the IT School of RTK, will develop and launch two programs on the basis of TSU, which will be implemented in national projects in 2024. The first - the program of additional professional education "Analytics data and Methods" artificial intelligence- is aimed at developing competencies in the field of analysis and work big data with using AI methods and technologies. Payment for the training course for IT specialists by 90% will be compensated from the funds of the federal project "," the Artificial intelligence remaining 10% of students will be able to pay independently, or at the expense of the employer.
The second program - "Telecommunications Equipment Installation Specialist" will form the skills necessary for the installation and preparation for the operation of telecommunications equipment. The training will be held within the framework of the federal project "Employment Promotion" of the national project "Demography" and will be fully provided at the expense of the state budget.
Along with the launch of educational initiatives, organizations intend to integrate students' ability to solve applied IT problems using: domestic software a high-performance management platform virtual servers containers and Basis Dynamix, as well as platforms data management RT.DataLake.
Tomsk is a major student center in Siberia, and TSU is one of Rostelecom's educational partners. The expansion of cooperation in the field of training IT and engineering personnel will increase the number of highly qualified specialists in the region, provide the university with up-to-date domestic software products, and will also contribute to the development of practical skills among students in accordance with the real needs of employers and businesses, "said David Martirosov, vice president for IT operation and infrastructure of Rostelecom PJSC. |
We regularly update the list of educational programs in accordance with the needs of the economy and the labor market - this ensures that our graduates have all the skills necessary for employment. By combining intellectual resources, as well as the material base of TSU with the expertise and capabilities of Rostelecom, we will reduce the shortage of IT personnel and accelerate the achievement of technological independence of the state, "said Eduard Galazhinsky, rector of Tomsk State University. |
