2020: Integration with NormaCS 4.x

On July 9, 2020 the Nanosoft company provided release of the integration solutions NormaCS 4.x for NX and Teamcenter from Siemens Digital Industries Software. The developed modules are intended for automation of the analysis of the Russian regulations and standards applied at design and technology preparation of production. Read more here.

2018: Integrated solution on the basis of Teamcenter and Bentley ProjectWise

The Siemens PLM Software company together with Bentley Systems announced on October 1, 2018 integrated solution for more effective implementation of capital projects. This solution will combine Teamcenter product line with the Bentley ProjectWise application and a unified environment of data. The offer for increase in transparency of management of programs of design and capital construction is result of the strategic union of Siemens and Bentley which it was announced in 2016.

Upon transition to digital technologies work of engineers and builders becomes more and more connected with a digital context and digital components of infrastructure projects. As we are engaged in project implementation "industrialization", it is interesting to us to work with Siemens over expansion of opportunities of digital workflows of a unified environment of data (CDE) outside separate capital projects. Thanks to integration of PLM Teamcenter of communication between digital doubles can both expand a project context now, and to detail the physical analogs – developing infrastructure through digital DNA.

Possibilities of system engineering and requirements management in Teamcenter and also modeling of lifecycles of the designed components are complemented with advantages of a unified environment of data of Bentley now. Digital doubles of the project automatically systematize digital data and synchronize changes in a supply chain, providing the continuous and complete analysis of a project status. Transition to digital processes from the very beginning of works provides scalable and easily controlled collecting and dissemination of data. Tying digital doubles to the approved digital context, the companies can reduce costs for project implementation, avoid an overexpenditure of means and also improve operational indicators due to performance improvement of the equipment and reduction of operating costs. 2013: Quality improvement and cost reduction by production

The Siemens company presented in January, 2013 the solution on quality management intended for elimination of problems and acceptance of the adjusting and preventive measures (CAPA). This solution developed by division of Siemens PLM Software as a part of the Teamcenter system provides strict control of quality management processes and reduces time of elimination of problems. The solution allows to establish more precisely and accurately basic reasons of defects, simplifies their correction, makes more effective their warning and conducting control check that reduces risk of repeated emergence of a problem and provides continuous quality improvement.

According to the report of Aberdeen Group analytical company, integration of product lifecycle management systems (PLM) and quality management is capable more than to cut down the internal and external expenses connected with possible emergence of defects for 50% and also for 8% to lower the total costs of quality assurance.

Processes of CAPA are the most important component of solutions on quality management. The solution on quality management and acceptance of the adjusting and preventive measures (CAPA) is based on web technologies and is a part of a packet of Teamcenter® from Siemens — the system of automated management of product lifecycle, most popular in the world. The new solution integrates quality management processes and carrying out changes, optimizes decision making and also supports the technique of eight-stage identification and elimination of problems of "Eight Disciplines Problem Solving" (8D) which is actively applied by quality control engineers.

Components of CAPA of an action for systematic variance analysis (complaints of customers, defects, failures and so forth) for the purpose of complete elimination of a basic reason and prevention of repeated emergence of problems are widely applied in quality assurance and security of products. At emergence of problems special importance is purchased by the speed of their elimination. Until the basic reason is not established and not eliminated, the enterprise should spend time and forces on search of alternate paths of solution, on repair and completions. Even if problems are detected at one of stages of creation or production (to a product output to the market), they negatively affect performance. It is much worse if the problem in a finished product is detected by the customer or supervisory authority – it can lead to legal collectings and reduces consumer satisfaction degree.

2012: Teamcenter 9

For April, 2012 Teamcenter 9 differs in the solutions and improvements in many aspects directed to support to the concept of High Definition PLM (HD-PLM) offered Siemens PLM Software which promotes to more effective adoption of the justified and exact project decisions. Teamcenter helps the companies to create more and more becoming complicated products, increasing at the same time performance and optimizing work of geographically distributed groups.

In the version of Teamcenter 9 there was integrated means for system engineering and integration within uniform architecture of the application is strengthened that allows the companies to make reasonable decisions with complete understanding of possible effects. Improvements in all packet of the products Teamcenter considerably increase performance, now the enterprises will be able quicker to bring products to the market, reducing at the same time costs.

System engineering

The new solution of Teamcenter for system engineering is based on completely integrated approach to questions of system engineering and requirements management. Unlike traditional solutions for product lifecycle management in which separate means are applied to modeling of a system, documentation of its communications with other systems and also documentation of technical requirements, in Teamcenter the sistemotekhnichesky development approach of products in managed environment is implemented. Teamcenter accelerates product development process thanks to intellectual consolidation of information and also guarantees that all divisions work with synchronized and up-to-date information about a product. Besides, integration with well familiar and best products in the class, such as Microsoft Outlook e-mail client, Microsoft Word text editor, the tabular editor Microsoft Excel and a tool for schemes and the charts Microsoft Visio and also means of mathematical and emitatsionny modeling of MATLAB and Simulink from MathWorks, supports a wide number of techniques of design and modeling of systems using those tools which engineers got used to use.

Management of documents and their contents

Technical documentation — a crucial component of product development process as on its basis such documents as the user instruction, the repair manual and other documents accompanying product output are created. Earlier documentation could be created only after the end of design, owing to inevitability of making changes in construction during development.

Expanded integration and management tools content into Teamcenter 9 provide side-by-side execution of processes of designing and development of documentation. It means that information on changes in process of their introduction is without delay broadcast and their influence is reflected in the corresponding documentation. Moreover, as modern products often are issued in a large number of options of execution, the management tool content in Teamcenter provides preparation of documentation on the basis of product configurations, using reuse of the general components — the text, graphics and metadata. It provides effective creation of documentation based on a context in different formats for its use on different devices and for preparation of versions in different languages at an exit to international market.

Close integration with the Rapid Author application from Cortona3D allows to add to documents of an illustration which save communication with design data therefore the changes made to construction automatically extend also on illustrations. In the new version the newest version of the S1000D standard applied at execution of documentation in the aerospace industry and in public institutions and also the DITA standard (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) is supported.

Management of lifecycle of service of products

Siemens PLM Software expands the management concept with lifecycle of service, entering the new module of scheduling and execution of works on maintenance of products. Scheduling and execution of works traditionally represented the tasks which are not connected among themselves carried out out of PLM Wednesday. It complicated works monitoring according to the procedures provided in documentation on a product, increased security risks at operation of products and the probability of failures or even failure that could lead to additional expenses or penalties.

In Teamcenter 9 there were built-in solutions for scheduling and control of execution of operations of maintenance allowing the enterprises to manage expenses, creating effective diagrams of work. Teamcenter 9 helps to optimize resources of the organizations which are carrying out service, increases performance and reduces idle times of assets. Teamcenter traces and fixes the fact of execution of works on maintenance for maintaining the exact magazine of service of each product. Besides, a feedback with developers of a product is provided to service staff for reliability augmentation and improvement of characteristics of construction.

The process approach to work with the user

Product development requires involvement of specialists of different level including working at once in several areas which for the solution of the carried-out task need access to information stored in a PLM system.

Teamcenter 9 facilitates user preference of processes of work by means of stylesheets. They optimize processes of use and the traditional "fat" client of Teamcenter (in the form of the application), and "thin" (in the form of the web interface). Execution of the application is easily configured now that facilitates an information access for the solution of a specific objective.
