History
1910
Ascension Church (Church of the Ascension of the Lord) is a lost Orthodox church in Ivanovo. It was founded in 1848 by order of a number of local manufacturers according to the project of the famous Russian architect - Konstantin Andreevich Ton, author of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow. Like the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the church was built in the Russo-Byzantine style. The temple was completed and consecrated in 1851.
In 1928, a library was opened in the temple building. Later, the temple was demolished.
