Airborne — the Dutch developer of digital robotic platforms for production of composite parts and products with the integrated composites. The company is engaged in commercial distribution of robotic production cells and the software and also makes on the production capacities in the Netherlands and Great Britain composite products for a number of projects from the different industries (automotive industry, construction, shipbuilding, the aerospace industry, electronics, wind power).

The platform technology of robotic cells can significantly help to reduce the cost of composite products, to considerably reduce a cycle of their development, at the same time providing stable quality with a high production speed, declare in Airborne.

History

2020: Severstal invests in Airborne

On September 21, 2020 Severstal announced investment into Airborne through the venture division Severstal Ventures. Financial terms of transaction do not reveal.

According to the head of department of corporate venture investments into Severstal Ventures Egor Gogolev, Airborne technology are capable "blow up" the market of composites within 5-7 years due to radical reduction of price of an end product and by that to influence the market of products from metals.

Thanks to the unique robotic platform the client will be able to razmesit the order on the corresponding portal, having provided necessary technical characteristics, and at the exit to receive that part which is completely answering to its requests at reasonable price. We see the huge potential of composite materials on a global scale which size of the market is estimated at $90 billion — the director of business development and to corporate venture projects of Severstal company Andrey Laptev said.[1]
